I wanted to make this review while also stating some facts about ANFB because I think the currest score it has is too high, and I wanted to even it up a lil' bit! So enjoy!

GRAPHICS

While many people said the combination of vanilla Dink graphics and Bloop sprites was a good idea, and I agree, well, I must say it was more of a necessity. All those cartoony sprites were messing with my eyes and every time I started to work on the dmod I was getting a feeling of boredom. Essentially, I sprinkled some dink sprites in there to spice things up a bit!

Fun fact, if you look into the GRAPHICS folder, you'll see a sprite of a bloody Sheldon and Octopus! And worm too. But we'll get into that later.

SOUND
I was very careful with the selection of music (as I always am) and wanted to give a sense of temporary joy. The DMOD may seem happy at first, but there is always that small feeling of uneasiness, that the happy times won't last long. Well, at least I hope I gave that feeling.
As I don't have a lot to work with when it comes to midi's (and I don't want to use mp3 files only for the Aural version, as not many people want to install it), I had to work with what I had.

STORY
Ah, yes the story. This will be a long one. As you may have seen, on the contest thread, I made up the story as I went along. And I'm pretty proud of what I came up with :] However, it's not because of laziness. Well, half at least. It's because AFNB was supposed to be completely different. Like, 90% different.
I'm not sure many people are familiar with a DMOD called "The Woods". I don't want to ruin the experience for you, but the beginning of the DMOD is, well, the normal beginning of Dink Smallwood, you know something is off. Characters act weird and creepy, and you know this isnt normal right away. Anyways, this segment lasts a few minutes, then you fall into a well, and the rest is up to you to see.
AFNB was supposed to be like that. I even wrote a whole 6 pages in a small notebook (see? I actually did have a story planned out! ). The dmod was supposed to be much scarier. Characters were supposed to either be extremely scary or extremely scared, using a ton of vulgar words and just being straight up sadistic. And you can still see some of this dialogue in some of the game's unused scripts. Good luck finding them though, this DMOD is such a mess there's a ton of empty .c files.
Anyways, the original story was, a combination of AFNB's actual story and A fish named Bloop's story. Everything is normal until the octopus teaches you the bubble attack. Then stuff starts going south real fast. The octopus (I forgot his name) starts acting really sadistic and basically gives you the feeling that he hates Sheldon so much he could beat him to death himself. A little while later and you get to Sheldon, already bloodied up and basically begging for his life. (Up until now, if this sounds scary to you, great! If not, then I understand, that's why it was scratched in the first place).
Bloop himself would've changed then, acting really evil and sadistic. Anyways, you get the idea, tons of scary stuff and gore happens. Then Bloop wakes up in the real world. It turns out it was all in his mind (You see where this is going?).
A little more boring scary stuff later, and he meets with the old bloop from the original dmod! (srupriess!)
For some reason Bloop has to collect 3 little worms for the old guardian angel bloop and then the whole secrets are revealed to him. BOOM! It was supposed to blow your mind like it did in the current dmod (at least I hope it did!).
I was even thinking of deleting your save and replacing all save slots with ones which say "you can't change the past" so I could do a 4th wall thing.

All in all, now you know what the hell was going through my mind when I created this mess of a DMOD. I know this isn't much of a review, but, come on, even I know the current score it has is too high. So consider this, not a review necessariy, but a useful piece of informatin for this DMOD!
