As for a more general view, I'd say they can work, but are rather emotionally stressing.
Yea. Plus the sort of surreality of the relationship and how easy it actually is to slip into making it nothing but just a chat session each day (- well, that was just towards the end, I guess). It would be ideal to be able to move from the internet relationship to an actual real-life see-each-other-more-than-once-a-year relationship sooner than there's grounds for realising you see each other once a year (i.e. it goes on for years)
