I first installed the demo from a CD that came with an issue of the PC Gamer magazine. Somehow, in my infinite wisdom, I had confused Dink Smallwood with a write-up about Baldur's Gate in the same issue. I remember walking into Smilestein's house and thinking "Jeez, this isn't that great." It was uninstalled in short-order.
A few issues later, Micheal Wolff (sp?) wrote an article detailing the modability of Dink, and how it was possible to make entirely new games easily. This piqued my interest, so I played the new demo (that let you play through Terris), and got my brother to pitch-in half of the $25.00 to purchase the game.
