I try to be good, at least. But situations rarely offer clear-cut 'good' and 'evil' choices.

Almost a year ago, there was some fairly harsh flaming taking place in a thread around here. A prominent board member was insulting someone else rather harshly. It wasn't jestful insults, but words meant to harm and berate.

I thought the situation might grow worse, so I intervened with Giant Red Words and some relatively harsh words of my own (nothing too bad, though there was a 'fudgeing' (yeah, like that) in there.)

It turns out I had misjudged the situation slightly... from the prominent board member's point of view, she was done with the argument. My red words cut into her deeply, and she left in tears, and has not returned.

I could link back to the thread in question, but she removed all of her posts courtesy of the 'Modify' function, so I'm not sure it would be of much use.
