: After getting through the dark forest, when I go to the building with the daughter I see the message about "Help, some man has captured me" or something like that. Then the screen freezes. Which reminded me of the first time I played when the same thing happened and I found a way around it. That time I didn't finish the game because I my speakers broke and I couldn't follow some kind of sound/memory puzzle. My point is I don't need a patch as this is the same download. I just can't remember how I saved the daughter without goinig into that building. Thanks. BTW, sorry so this post is so long, I got carried away.
So you're running v0.99i and not an earlier version? It should say v0.99i in the Frontend and on the title screen.
If it says v0.99i in the Frontend but not the title screen, then the patch wasn't applied correctly; make sure you check 'save folder info' when extracting it.
Otherwise... try talking to the knight south of town, he might let you pass now.
