I have to agree with neithskye. She makes perfect sense. There was an experiment one time (can't remember where I saw it but sure do remember the results) where they secretly taped people washing their hands at a public bathroom. Only 23%(?) of people who used the toilet washed their hands afterward and of those people about half only washed longer than 15 seconds or thoughoughly. Most only washed parts of their hands and not all of their hands.
People are basically ignorant of the germs and bacteria carried to their mouths ,eyes, etc. by their hands. And some people will scratch their private parts and then fix something to eat afterwards. I actually saw a cook in a restaurant wipe his nose with his hand and start cooking. I was also eating chinese food in a place one time where there was a cockroach in the food. The girl at our table that had that particular plate really and truly turned green. Now I thought that was a wife's tale till I saw it happen.
