Thanks for the reply.

You are welcome. Thanks for playing my dmod.

However I am not using any cheating tool of any sort (was there any to begin with?). But I am using Dink HD programme to play. Is this causing the bug?

Maybe so, I am unable to test using that version of the Dink Engine and I know that is a frequent cause of many problems with dmods that were not tested on it, and even some that were tested on it.

This is what I did. There are certain instances that after showing a picture of something, then when it goes back to the game, the whole game 'freezes'.

Wow, that is such a simple piece of code, I am really surprised that this is causing you problems. Is it the case that you are you unable to "(Press <Space> after viewing the image.)" or that when you do press the space bar, nothing happens?

In the sense that Dink cannot move so I always have to reload a previously saved game. This happens when I view the wagic weapons from Karl as well as when I am entering Shimmer's cave. This happens all the time so I cannot progress.

Sure, the game shows up to 10 pictures for various reasons, so of course if this is a problem for you, it would certainly interfere with the game's progress. *MAYBE* if you tell me more about this problem with the display of pictures, I MIGHT be able to make a code change that would enable this feature to work under the version of the Dink Engine you are using.

To 'circumvent' this, I copied & pasted the save game file to the normal Dink programme to play & it worked. I then saved the game at the next save point before I copy & paste back to the Dink HD programme to resume normal play (my bad habit is I often love to use the quick save & quick load feature). Thus I am wondering if this is the bug that is causing the game not to work properly?

I am amazed that more things did not work. You are lucky that
some other things worked at all. Without question, this is the main cause of your inability to get to Hashut, and it would have also prevented some other fun things from happening.

I placed a warning about different versions of the Dink Engine not working with my dmod, when I wrote "#2 According to Robj's Version Checker I have tested this dmod under "GNU FreeDink for Linux 109.6" AND "Dink Smallwood (for Windoze) 1.08 Vanilla" using WINE 3.0.4 on Ubuntu 16.04. Any other versions of the Dink Engine may not be able to run this dmod normally." in the description that comes up when you use DFarc to choose which of your downloaded dmods you might want to play.

Is my save game file deemed corrupted now?

Yes. I'd say your choices are to restart the game under a more compatible version of the Dink Engine (such as freedink 1.08 or 1.09) or to just recognize that you may never reach Hashut using the "the save game file to the normal Dink programme". You might want to start a new thread in the forum about the best most compatible version of the Dink Engine to use (or search for an older thread on this topic).
