2nd generation. No easy way to be free. 
Here are the results of my work on patching issues #2 and #3:

2. After you talk to the guard in Stonebrook for the first time and Chealse when she comes in if you leave this screen and re-enter it from any side Chealse will appear again, but the birthday party dialogue will start;
Okay, so I added code to the 1.05 version to address this bug and I tested it. So, I think that is fixed.

3. After talking to the bug and snake if you choose to move to the screen with ducks after removing the ear Dink will notice that probably they are talking about him, but no matter if you will try to put on the 3rd ear or not you cannot get out of that scene, you're stuck there with Dink constantly wondering what the ducks are saying.
First of all, you should not be able to "remove the ear" after Dink uses it near the garden with the bug and the snake. There should be no other magic item for Dink to swap it with in his inventory at that time. That being said, I found that I could get Dink stuck in a loop (involving the attempted use of the third ear) at the duckpond when he had just returned from the garden IF Dink never used the third ear in the garden area in the first place and instead slew the snake and bug that were in the garden area. I tried a number of changes to try to avoid this infinite loop and finally gave up trying to coerce the Dink engine to my will. Instead, I added code that forced Dink to put the ear on when he came from the garden to the duck pond area. It is necessary for the plot at this point that Dink talks to the ducks anyway.

I have (just now) uploaded the 1.05 version of this dmod, with the above fixes in place. Can ANYONE tell me how to get this version made available for download? I've already tried sending email to redink1 (or someone else who can make dmods available for downloads) for the 1.04 version (that I uploaded over a week ago).
