If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
It's 'red ink one'.
As the story goes, when lil' teenage Dan dialed-in to the internet over the phone line at a blistering 14.4 kbps, he signed up for an e-mail account at the super-cool-and-popular hotmail.com. You see, at the time he was obsessed with video games such as Mortal Kombat and Doom and other games which gushed blood about the screen in impressive bursts. He thought that 'red ink' was a neat allusion to his then-appreciation of the bloody arts-and-crafts he played with daily, but 'redink@hotmail.com' was already taken. But, 'redink1@hotmail.com' was available, and the rest is history.
This was probably a few months before I first heard of Dink Smallwood (I learned of Dink Smallwood around May '98, and I probably created my e-mail account late '97 or early '98).
