Right, I found the culprit. SaveMass and two other Chrome extensions installed themselves without my knowledge. This isn't the first time it's happened, but if anyone else is getting these, check your extensions. PricceCh0pe as well. It seems these are adware that are bundled within your typical installer. So, thank any company like Cnet that gives you crap you don't want against your will. Gotta love those idiots.
Still, it would be nice to now implement a way to have the DN pre-block these ads. Ads are intrusive, but these are more numerous.
