I am almost 21. I don't really mind waiting all that much because I'm still young and rushing into something isn't a great idea. It gives the chance for us to become closer friends which would become beneficial in a possible future relationship. There are few girls I'm genuinely interested in, so I don't really have elsewhere to look.
Getting to know her better (and dazzling her with you wit and personality) sounds good, but your attitude sounds very submissive; 'I'll be there for you when you're ready', like a sad little puppy begging for a treat.
That'll never work. People are interested in things that aren't too easy to obtain, and vice versa. She currently has zero interest in dating you; showering her with even more attention is absolutely not the way to change her mind.
You should keep chatting with her, so that she is aware of your existence and your doings, but you should also talk with other girls. Make it look like you have things going for you, that she's NOT the only one you're interested in (even if she secretly is).
Not only will this raise your standing in her eyes, you might actually find someone else who IS genuinely interested in you in the process. At the end of the day, getting someone who doesn't to see you as a potential partner is very difficult.
