I generally go for attack, with magic as a close second depending on the D-Mod.
I like using magic and get annoyed waiting 10 minutes for hellfire to charge up.
With the normal Dink hit-and-run tactics, I say that if I can kill them quick enough then they won't have time to hurt me much, so defence is not so important.
This does not always work, but it's good enough for most D-Mods
