It's the best gaming distribution service that currently exists. I, for one, don't want to have piles of CDs and DVDs lying around and it really encourages people to buy the games instead of lolling about on Piratebay and the likes. It's the future.
lol, of course you can't play online games offline.
Steam allows all other games to play offline of course and the community is brilliant. Killersong, you can play Morrowind, maybe you haven't started the game once while you're in online mode? Try to re-validate all the files.
It's helluva convenient to just download all the games you've gotten off Steam instead of finding that CD or DVD lying around.
