Well I can see how you'd be against that, but really, isn't it that way in all aspects of life? There has to be someone keeping things from going out of control. That person is not me, I'm not a moderator or staff. And I can't ban anyone from the forum, I won't expel anyone from the community, ...
But I will assure you that there a lot of people not posting here or in other threads that are actually tired of reading through 30 subsequent posts where people attack each other or intentionally insult people or their beliefs. They'd rather read all the other silly posts that were filled with humour, a bit of sarcasm (hell, remember the picture post I made with the suicide things?), ... And it will be threads with the same topics as the ones that were turned into flame wars now, only they would have a positive vibe. I think it's actually the negativism that's so pervasive at the moment.
I think pretty much everyone agrees we don't need another thread topic category: "Flame War" next to general, off topic, development, ...
But what I will do is prevent the same behaviour from disrupting the flow of this project because if I don't, it will fall apart within a week and nobody will want that. And none of that will actually have an impact on what you can or can't post here. But the project has an external site I'm building, one that I'm managing seperate from TDN. On there you will make profiles that can be connected to your name here on TDN. So on that site, I'll take the necessary actions to make it a fun place to hang out
Reading my original post, I think I did make it sound a little too bossy. I think it was an impulsive reaction to try and intimidate the flamers and trolls
