I think we'd all love to see a Dink 2, and if someone ever made a game like you describe it would be great.
It's just the enthusiasm for actually doing the project is low because we've seen it fail several times before. Plus I think your expectations are a little high wanting to find 3 or more competent C++ programmers and graphic artists on a smallish forum like this, let alone with time to spare for a big long-term project.
