Re: PSP FreeDink for PSP-3000
I heard that there's now a way to unlock PSP-3000 (with firmware 5.03, not 5.50), which means we should be able to play FreeDink on it
It's called ChickHEN:

Other homebrews such as ScummVM are reported to work.
Can anybody try?
(if you find a good tutorial you could post a link too)

ChickHEN also works on PSP-2000 so I gave it a try. I wrote a few notes at:
http://www.freedink.org/doc/psp/ (cf. "Solution 3: HEN").
(Since this is not a full unlock, I cannot use the additional module to take screenshots. If you know how this can be done, let me know

Actually, with ChickHEN, you can install custom firmware. I just did it on mine, and it worked like a charm!
Here are instructions.
Make sure you have the correct kind and motherboard like shown in the table on that page. They include an application that lets you check this after you have run ChickHEN. I just went from an official 3.90 firmware, upgraded to official 5.03 firmware, did the ChickHEN trick, (confirmed I had a legal type/motherboard combination) and ran Hellcat's Recovery Flasher, which allowed me to flash my firmware to 5.00 M33-4 (a custom firmware.)
Thanks for telling me about ChickHEN, Beuc! I was afraid I'd never be able to get my PSP over to custom firmware, but now, I have! I just turned my battery into a pandora one also.

Hm, I probably should have mentioned (regarding this thread's topic) that the trick I'm linking to doesn't work for the PSP-300x. Mine is a PSP-1004, which is why it works for me. You PSP-300x users will just have to stick with ChickHEN for now, I guess.
