It is currently 11 PM, and I have just finished the game "6 Days a Sacrifice" the conclusion to the Chzo Mythos created by Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw. The series started with 5 Days a Stranger, an award-winning game in which you tie a teddy bear to a stick and dip it in salt. The story centers around the efforts of various people against the killer known as "John" DeFoe, who's soul possesses the ability to transcend time, using an African idol as a medium.

Anyways, "6 Days" takes place halfway between "5 Days a Stranger, and Trilby's Notes", and "7 Days a Skeptic". The player assumes the role of Theo DeCabe, a building inspector sent to examine an optomology building on an anonymous tip. After being severely wounded from being pushed down an empty elevator shaft, he wakes up on a hospital bed, in a room with a doctor, and a familiar-looking guard, who is promptly murdered by "The Tall Man" introduced in Trilby's Notes.

DeCabe soon meets another woman, Janine, and finds out that Optomology is just a front for a deranged cult known as the Order of Blessed Agonies, who seek to use DeFoe to bring about the appearance of Chzo into the world. Then the three seek to find away out of the building and to freedom.

6 Days a sacrifice binds together most of the loose ends left in the storyline by its predecessors, although the ending of 6 days itself isn't quite complete. (however, it's said on the website that the special edition has a different ending, so if anyone has it, I think writing this earns me the download link.)

The game is somewhat scary in the same way the other games in the series were, in my opinion the most chilling feature simply being the chattery voices in the background during certain points in the game.

And now for the obligatory, cliched: Blah blah, blah, not as good as 5 days, but certainly worth the time for fans of the series.

pros
------
Good storyline, I was more or less forced to finish it in one sitting
Just plain fun
as stated earlier, the audio manages to add so much to the eerie effect

Cons
------
Too easy, I managed to go through it without much effort
Too short, it was done in a few hours

9/10

EDIT: May as well add the d/l link:
Pure awesome

Basically all of Yahtzee's games are good, especially the Trilby series. There's also a detective adventure game that's made in Flash, which is pretty good too. Forgot its name, but surely it's in the list of games that Yahtzee made.

let's see...

Theres:

The Trilby Series
Trilby: The art of Theft
1213
Adventures in the Galaxy of Fantabulous Wonderment
Age of Evil
No Experience Necessary
The Trials of Odysseus Kent
The Rob Blanc Trilogy, and
The Arthur Yahtzee Trilogy

Would it be any of those? The game descriptions aren't normally that great.

None of them. I might be mistaken, though I think I might be right he worked on it with several people.

Look for a Flash adventure game starring a private investigator wearing a fish for a tie...

The game "Friday" managed to last at least 100 seconds before I realized how horribly boring it was.

Tested out and i say that was a great game. I like old-school adventure games and this game is the same but i almost feel that it's ported to WinXP.Nice athmosphere, story etc.

EDIT: 7 Days a Skeptic completed. That was a really interesting game than 6 Days a Sacrifice. More action and some moments needs to make something quick.
