i found a pole that when touched begins a countdown. does this open up the gate to the east outside of the town? is it possible to get there before the times up?

I found the house thanks to pure luck and didn't remember where the exit was.

Anyway, what should one do next?

If you passed the gate, you should enter the house with a star made of blood ( These stars are located at the main places that you have to go ).

There you'll find a bomb ( you should use it north from the first house ).
To exit this area you need to find another pole.

So, you found the first pole, then found the bomb, and now to go out you need to find a second "switch" pole, it's insibe a small house ( I hop that's what you're asking for... )

I've played it here jus' 5 mins ago. Just talk to the second pole and the gate will be opened for 45 seconds

Nah, it will open the same gate that you've passed before, the difference is that you have a bomb now

It blow up a rock that's near to a church (It's near to the place that you've started the game), there you'll find the Red Knight, don't fight him, just follow the path until you find another church, after enter in there, you'll be safe.

The path is full of spots where Dink will freeze forever, they are so much that the game isn't playable anymore.

I agree with dinkinfreak. The idea of putting obstacles on the path is not too bad, but there are too many of them. Beside, they can't be spotted until you nearly stumble onto them because of the darkness.
How many screens Dink has to get across after entering the forest?

EDIT: I managed to reenter the city after half a dozen screens, but everything was still dark and I couldn't find the church before being killed. Any hints?

Sorry about that, I don't know what happened to that obstacles, they sbould freeze you for 1 second then let you go, if you're unlucky, the Red Knight would catch you, I've played that run many times, but this script never worked with me, and I forgot to delete it, sorry.

After escape the forest and enter the city, you must go down until you see a wall, then go to the right and enter the church ( you can note that the monsters don't enter in a screen that have a church ), then when you go out the monster and the darkness will be gone.

Isn't 'cos the many problems here, but, should I make an walkthrough and send it to Dink Solutions??

If the obstacle thing is just a bug, there's no need to have a complete walkthrough avaible now (not yet, at least). Do you plan to publish a new version to fix this? When can we download it? Anytime soon?

EDIT: I finally managed to get past (thanks for the hint about the location of the church). After that, I finished the game without any trouble. It's quite interesting so far, bravo! A DMOD worthy to download, although it's far from finished.

I'm making a walkthrough, but, I don't know how to upload it!

There's a link that says "send us" is not working! Is there another way to upload it??

And I though that wasn't too hard to finish it, it's only a 10 min demo, I've finished without get killed anytime, but It's my mod

2 tips: Don't hit any zombie until you find a sword and at the Red K run, don't touch the cracks or thorns, they are the "freezing spots"
