When I fight the BOSS goblin I get in a few hits then he FREEZES me and I cant move or attack. Is this a bug or part of the game. If its part of the game how do counter the effects and continue fighting?

Yeah, it's a bug. Have you downloaded the 1.07 patch? Also, try killing him without using your magic or bow, that could do the trick

The patch should work. Bow is OK, I'd be careful with magic though
