OK, if you had a program which converted _any_ type of image files to the dink palette, and made them bitmps, which would be more important to you:

1.- speed (currently it takes 16 seconds to convert 4 medium sized sprites (medium is like a section of stone wall)

2.- or the ability to change the palette really easily.

I have a branch in the development of my program see, and i thought I'd ask everyone first

is 16 seconds too long? how many pictures are you likely to change at once??

I don't care how long it takes. Doing it manually takes MUCH MUCH MUCH longer! I hope that answers your question.

And what mean *any file*.

It is JPG, PNG, EMF, PIC and other advanced types?

Oh, and about your question,

I think you can concentrate on speed. It is

important, I think.

What is the alrternative to "changing the palette really easily", not changing at all or with a little difficulty? 'Cause it's not something most people will need, so I don't think it matters if it takes a little work, but if you couldn't do it at all that's a significant tradeoff.

It would involve deleting a file, every time you wanted to change the palette.... I'll try it out, and see what the speed increase is like
