A strange disorder that probably lead to vampire mythology

Its a very rare and strange disorder, but consider this;
The afflicted person needs to stay out of light and needs fresh blood. Doesnt that kinda sound like vampirism? I would bet in medieval times someone got this and it led to rumors that were exaggerated by storytellers and that led to the myth of vampires.

Actually, it's a spoof. It caused some panic a couple of years ago because people, like you
, thought it was for real.

Well, the wikipedia has an article on erythropoietic porphyria, so I don't know what to belive about it. It's fairly fleshed out as well so I am distinctly confused.
Well the problem with Wikipedia is that anyone can write and edit the articles, so you don't know if the articles are correct, since you don't know the writer's credentials.
