New Colors
I'm working on some of the dink graphics making different color versions. So far I have Dink in pure black, red, and "ghost". I've also made blue and green bonca graphics (not using crappy DImage of coarse
) They look pretty good if I do say so myself. What I'm working on now are "zombies" or intended to be so. Taking the colors of the merchant dudes and flopping them around abit to produce this kind of effect. I may or may not add to this list, depending on the results I get from testing. But everything I've done so far looks good to me and I'll get around to submitting them (hopefully with a test mod or something) soon. I might post some previews or something if I need a break. I am starting to feel the effects of sitting in front of the computer for hours at a time. That, and I've been going to bed later than usual lately. Working on graphics frame by frame can be quite agonizing...
Add: I made up a little preview. This is it. Blue bonca, Green bonca, Green zombie-like dude, Blue zombielike dude, Black Dink, Ghost Dink, and Red Dink. Things I need to do is fix the color of the green zombie's hair for 2 directions (don't ask why
). Come up with a new death frame for the bluish zombie. Shoot, that's only two things.
Add(again): Yes, I know my little preview is a little small and fuzzy. I just don't know why yet.

Okay, here's where I stand now. I've added some colored chests (blue and purple). I like the blue ones. I don't really remember the purple ones
. Fixed some things that slipped by me with the red and black Dinks. I fixed the zombie's hair. So, the only thing left is to fix that darned death frame. I think I'm gonna need some help on this one. Any volunteers? After I get that done I can pack it all up and send it in.

I like all but the red and black Dink (they don't look that great), but all of the others are good. Keep up the good work. Oh, and no I can't help you (all of my attempts at recolouring (using Irfanview) are failures. They looked horrible. Oh, well, glad there is someone here that is better at it than me.
Thanks DD. I'll probably keep those two in there seeing how long it took me to do them and someone out there may have some use for them. I think I may add some more to my preview and maybe the death frame that needs fixing.
I would like to give it a try tell me how the death graphic needs to look like and I'll see what I can do. (I haven't done this before so I probardly suck but I like to try anyway.)
We already have the Red Dink graphics.

It's not exactly hard, surely any author that WANTED different colours could do it themselves in 5minutes. Photoshop > Hue/Saturation > Slide the bar wherever you want to get hundreds of different colours.. And it's Red-Ink not Red-Dink

Or you can use DInage to tint the images

Yes, they could do it on their own, but not all authors can figure out out to do so. By doing this for them, it saves time so that they wouldn't have to, and also provides for the ones who simply have no clue whatsoever to do this. I for one would prefer d/l something like this that is quick and easy, opposed to doing it on my own.
Erwin: I'll e-mail you the frame with the details about how I wanted it. If you have some cool idea for it, you might try that as well. i'll send it to the email address that's in your profile

Fair enough if you wasnt to keep it because of all the har work you put in.
Everything is finished. Well, almost. Seem to be having some email troubles between me and Erwin. Hopefully, I'll get the email soon. If not, then maybe I'll have to figure something else out...
I know just what you mean about the amount of work that goes into changing frame after frame.I once made a 'new weapon' for Dink and that seemed to take forever.(I gave the weapon away and I'm still waiting for that person to make their dmod!)*hint hint*
I recently started a 'new look' for Dink and it is even more exhausting.I have finished the frames for walk,idle,hit,magic-hit,push, die,sword-walk and sword-hit.
But I am in the process of doing the sword-idle frames over as I seem to have messed them up the first time.
Do you ever ask yourself 'why am I doing this again?'

I hope the e-mail worked this time. Did it rabidwolf?
Hey I posted this a bit too late. It's always nice to get an answer before you even asked the question.

Yep, it did. I like your bonca, but I think I'll stick with mine as I like the colors a little better. Thanks for the wide selection you have given me on the death graphic, I'll compare them to the water tiles and use the one that looks most similar.
Update: I've narrowed it down to 3 of the frames.

I know what you mean. I used Irfanview to try recolour boncas, pillbugs and dragons for a Christmas and New Year themed Dmod. With IrfanView this is easy and fast, yet to do it all took me the vast majority of 2 days, even though that was pretty much the only thing I did for those 2 days.
I think I'm done with it. I'm sending it in now.
