Corrupted Map?
Run into a bit of a problem. I was working on a map file at my workplace and home and transporting it back and forth. When I brought it home, I noticed that all the warp screens were off by one. I was back at work and the file was ok, so I reburned it and brought it home, and now they are off by 2. I noticed that there are two new (blank) map screens in the 1st and 2nd spots and that has pushed all the other screens "back" 2 spots so all warps are messed up and when you are on the far right edge of the map, you are "missing" the furthest 2 screens. Is there anything I can do here to fix the problem?
Are you copying both the dink.dat and map.dat files? Dink.dat stores the order of the map screens, so it seems like that's getting out-of-sync. It is possible to modify dink.dat by hand with a hex-editor... but it isn't very fun.
The original time I thought I had just grabbed the whole directory, but I must not have. I know the second time I had only taken the map.dat, so that is probably what happened. I guess I wasn't sure what the dink.dat file did. I will be sure to sync both from now on though.
Thanks for the help

Hey, you're one of those old-skool dinkers, aren't you? Your name seems awfully familiar.

Ah. I knew it. You're that Friends Beyond guy. Welcome back! I missed your actual return point, but then again, I don't frequent this forum that much. You probably don't even remember me.
