Why on earth do people like reality tv?
For those of you who live in the United States who enjoy stuffing your faces and watching reality shows-HAVE YOU GONE MAD?! Now dont take this personal, but your lowering america's standards so much that its no wonder states near the gulf are beginning to submerge. Its bad enough that we got deadbeat rappers acting, public schools preaching creationism, about a 50% divorce rate, and we gave our monkey in washington another 4 years. Now we are ruining the entertainment industry. What about the great SCRIPTED shows such a Greg the Bunny, Family Guy, 3rd Rock From the Sun, Becker, and Arrested Development? In civilized society there is suppose to be development and progress, not self-destruction and numming stupidity.

Dude, reality TV is done. It's been declining ever since Survivor (the first one.) Name one big reality hit since then (American Idol doesn't count; talent shows have been around forever.)
what about fear factor? what about The Aprentice shows? what about The Biggest Loser? Look, somebody must be watching these crappy shows because the broadcasting companies are spitting them out like crazy for this fall.
Heyyyy, I watch some of them (The Amazing Race, Survivor and a few others). I watch them because I don't have a life, and I need a laugh now and then.

BTW, I am Canadian and personally think "The Amazing Race" is one of the best reality shows ever. I am never going to be going to all those countries the contestants do and can't wait till the next season.
But if you don't like them, don't watch them.

Look, somebody must be watching these crappy shows because the broadcasting companies are spitting them out like crazy for this fall.
Plus, it's much cheaper to produce than some TV sitcom starring people who require pay.. takes less effort, hence we get an overdose of reality TV. But it'll die out sooner or later..

Over here gets bombarded with reality tv to, big brother after big brother when the simpsons should be on really sucks.
Ooh, I forgot about The Apprentice. There are a lot of reality shows, but when I think about the major hits we've seen recently, I think of "Desperate Housewives", "CSI: whatever", "House", etc.
I personally enjoyed the show where they switch wives, and the one where two families go on a vacation together. Shipmates is cool too. Survivors, funny home videos and other shows like that are boring. America's dumbest criminals is easily the worst I've ever seen...
Amazing Race is a really good show... but I'm more into shows like Family Guy, Scrubs, Entourage, That 70's Show. I've been watching the reruns of The Outer Limits lately.

i just wish that instead of cancelling shows like Greg the Bunny and 3rd Rock From the Sun they cancel more of these reality shows. i watch tv and like wild scripted shows because i can see characters that i couldnt normally see in real life. e.g. Peter Griffin, Byron (Buster) Bluth, Dr. Perry Cox, Warren Demontague.
Reality TV... SUCKS! Fear Factor is an acception. (has anyone seen or been in the universal hollywood fear factor live thing?)
I think fear factor is one of the worse reality shows. ^^

i agree with carrie, i want rediculous, wild, wacky comedy. If i wanted just your average goof off or stupid dares i would've spent more time with my degenerative high school peers who find it hilarious when they lob a waterballoon full of warm milk at someone...(wait...that would kind of funny in some cases). my point is: I watch tv shows that can give me stuff my normal everyday life wouldn't give me, just like i play games like Dink Smallwood where i could do things i couldnt normally do. IT'S MY ESCAPE FROM REALITY.
