Since I can't draw would anyone be interested in drawing me a map for my dmod when it is done. If so I will send them a copy of my dmod in advance of it's official release so they can load it up in WinDinkEdit or DinkEdit and then draw the map. I will also credit them in a Credits.txt file I will be creating.

Mmmm, pizza.
Wouldn't a print-screen of the minimap just do the trick? (Don't forget to apply the pallete)

Yeah, but wouldn't that look a little simplistic. Plus I don't know how to apply the Dink Palette (which I assume is what you mean when you say "the palette"). I also don't know what program to use. I also assume you mean pressing the Print Screen button on the keyboard when using DinkEdit or WinDinkEdit since I know of no other way to view your Map file.

Mildly deranged.
I would, but I have no scanner.

Unless they trace the map, wouldn't drawing it introduce far more problems than would be worth how neat it looks? It seems like you'd be better off putting it through a photoshop filter.

WinDinkedit has a good way of getting a 640x480 bitmap of the map: Detail the entire map (press space on the world view), click Tools, then Take Screenshot.

Okay I tried that, but the "Take Screenshot" text is grey instead of black for some reason.

Try viewing a screen and then coming back out... sometimes I need to do that just to detail the map.

Okay, that did the trick. But the inside of houses are there. Oh well, I guess that at some stage I will have to make a version of the mini map that replaces the rooms with the ocean (which is quite doable considering how I have arranged my mini map. Thanks, I think I will use this method.

Now how do I get it to work in my dmod?

Place the bitmap in your tiles folder, and use

show_bitmap("tiles/map.bmp", 0, 1, 0);

Maybe. Lookup show_bitmap in the DinkC Reference (preferably the Revised edition available on The Dink Network) to double check.

Okay, thanks guys, I'll bookmark this page so that when it is relevant I can use it.
