The Dink Network

Don't think I installed DFArc right. Don't see it in any of the dink smallwood folders. And when I try to play a dmod, it doesn't appear in the front end even tho I downloaded it and put it into DFArc. I'm doing it wrong. And yes I have the main game installed.Could someone please run thru the installing process for both issues. Thank you

You must first run the main dink game (just start it, and press the quit button) to let the engine find the your Dinksmallwood folder. This creates a dinksmallwood.ini somewhere on your HD. I believe DFArc uses this .ini to determine where it should put the DMod folders.

So:
Start up the main game and click the quit button.
Re-install all installed DMods.

Thank you magicman. I have played the main game and mystery island already so it must be something else. I downloaded DFArc and double clicked to install but it does not appear in any of the dink folders. Then I d/l'ed a dmod but it doesn't show up in front end. Maybe the installation of the dmod was wrong? I simply double clicked on it also.
edit: opps no I didn't. When I tried to click on the dmod, the computer needed to know how to open it.

Ahhh, I think I understand you better now.

DFArc is something similar as winzip, but then only for .dmod files.

If you can't find DFArc, simply search for it. If you open it, you must choose to Open .dmod file (or install .dmod file, can't remember). Then you can browse to the file.

I have done that and now again (still can't find a dink folder with DFArc). But how do I get the downloaded dmod into dink or DFArc so it can be found in the front end? Sorry to be any trouble and thank you again.

install dfarc open df arc click open extract or something find the .dmod file you want open it. It will say decompressing then click extract then it will extract it when done click ok on the box that pops up and then cancel go to frontend and it should listed. You can also drag .dmod files over the dfarc icon to do the same thing.

DFArc is, by default, installed to the main Dink Directory with dink.exe. Unless you changed the install path it should be in C:\Program Files\Dink or C:\Program Files\Dink Smallwood (I can't remember now).

All you need to do to run DFArc is double-click on the .dmod file you downloaded.

Thank all of you for the help. I removed DFArc and the dmods and re-downloaded everything. It all works well now.
