Can't for the life of me hit the zombie on level 1- any suggestions? Every time I try to hit him he translocates or whatever its called.

Get water magic and shoot it at one of the headstones. It'll leave a sprinkle. Let the guy walk into that, by letting him following you.

You can also try to use the moonwalk gloves if you have them, but I didn't find them as effective as this. (Though you need magic level of 10 or higher to make it really effective).

You can also use the Fart weapon (if you found it), or attack him while facing away from him yet being very close to him. The latter is hard to do, but I've killed him that way before.
