What is the hardest part of making a dmod?
New graphics? Scripting? Mapping? Balancing? Coming up with an idea? Turning on the computer?
For me, the hardest part might be laying down tiles, because it's so dull. I sorta like decorating though.
Edit: going by my various abandoned projects, that is...

I always find its hard to stop talking about it long enough to do it.
After that, I found scripting to be the hardest for me. Its that sort of thing that is hard to learn as you go, unlike graphics. You can use the most primitive graphics and at least they'll work, but a script must be correct to work at all.

I would say it is probably scripting things to work in conjuction with one another. Scripting per se is hard, but not too bad... but when trying to make a non-linear adventure... ow.

I'm not good with creating new graphics or mapping. Somehow I never feel good with the thing I made. Balancing is difficult too. Especially because I know where I must go and where the secrets are. The player doesn't know that, so it might take him twice as much levelups. This'll often include killing 5 exp-pillbugs 'till you're level 3

The hardest part for me (and maybe some more people) is getting off my lazy ass and actually work on them. After that, everything is easy

I agree with Dukie. That and the thinking...yeah...thinking hurts my head.
