Holy Crap Timing
Whoa. I just got an e-mail from the friendly folks at Gamespy, who don't know that we've moved yet (as far as I know).
"As you are aware we had to rebuild our linux hosting infrastructure to close many security holes. Since that time we have discovered additional vulnerabilities via CGIs on some sites. For this reason we have been forced to disable cgi function on all sites.
We understand this may break application functionality on some sites, but security and reliability are paramount.
To replace CGIs we would like to recommend PHP, which continues to be fully supported on the dynamic servers.
In addition, we will be looking forthwith into providing some CGIs, such as formmail, which will be acceptable in the security profile of our servers."
Wow.
Basically The Dink Network is completely based on CGI scripts. Re-writing it in PHP really wouldn't be an option.
I think we lucked out big time.

PHP is better than CGI anyway. I hope the next Miasma will be written in PHP.
But that would seriously suck if the entire DN was disabled.

Yeah, between a supposedly better language and a shorter wait for the site to return, I think I'd choose the latter.
