Oddly, the middle finger on my left hand. There's a sort of swollen tender spot at the edge of the nail. The last time this happened (it was a different finger) it sort of got infected, and after I squeezed out the yellow crap it quickly stopped hurting, but this time there's nothing to squeeze out. Any advice?

Thats what happens when you do what SabreTrout suggests! However fire is a perfect sterilization tool...to bad it obviously killed MiloBones and made him a ghost.
