For those who don't know it, COC is an online RTS game. If you're looking for something to play, I'd recommend this game. I assure you it'll make you waste large portions of your existence.

I've seen about 2000 ads about it. It looks shit. Is there perhaps an RTS game we could all play that isn't on phones? I don't think phones should get 100 thousand degrees.

It's not a mobile only game. It can be played on the computer.

I thought it was crap too and didn't download it for a while but, woah, It's really addictive.
Try it, it's only like 40MB anyway.

Nope, mobile only.

That, or the PC version is obscure as hell.

You can download the game on your phone and THEN link it to your PC, and continue playing on it. Like you can do with Whatsapp.

This picture alone tells me it's probably bad. So let's get some facts out there

1 - Is there an "energy" system?
2 - Do buildings take a million hours to build?
3 - Is there a pay to win item that builds instantly/restores "energy"?
4 - Is there a massively long tutorial you can't skip?
5 - Is the combat at least more engaging than drawing a square around a bunch of dudes and telling them to do whatever against another bunch of dudes?
6 - If there's any combinations of these crimes against gaming, does the multiplayer make up for it at all?

That's an especially horrible looking picture but don't get discouraged by it.
1. No energy system but you have to mine for elixir/food to spawn troops, if that's what you mean.
2. Depends on the building. Not much longer than in any other RTS game.
3. There are gems which can instantly upgrade your buildings and helps you buy resources but they aren't really an integral part of the game. You'll get them randomly(In addition to a large initial supply) and often it's enough to play through.
4. No.
5. You can't control your troops but you can deploy them seperately and they will attack whatever is nearest. What they are likely to attack depends on their "favourite" target. The way you deploy your troops can make or break a raid.
6. Oh, YES.

No energy system but you have to mine for elixir/food to spawn troops, if that's what you mean.

Then the miners run out of energy and you have to wait about 2 million hours to mine some more, right?

But for 4.99, you get an exclusive bundle of 3 power gems that do that 2 million hours of waiting for you, best offer ever *comic book spiky bubble thing*?

You can actually just raid some poor noob for gold and elixir, whenever you want. And your mines continue stockpiling when you're logged out. So every day you wake up with a resource surplus.
My friends have been playing this game for ages and never complained once and never ever bought(or would buy) anything on it with cash. You can just upgrade important buildings while you're sleeping.

Well that certainly sounds fair for anyone who just started, unless they don't lose anything.

Uhhhh.. noobs get a two and a half day head start(called a Shield, which you can buy later with gold or get when you're damaged for free). That's pretty much more than enough to get a hang of the game. And you really can't expect a game solely based on raiding enemy camps to be fair to noobs.
And yeah, they lose shit but they can 'revenge attack' you later.

So then the shield can run out while you're away/you can't buy another one as you're being raided?

Then said raiding prevents you from having enough gold as well?

Shields can last 12 hours and more. And if you're away and get attacked you automatically get a shield afterwards(you can't get raided while you're online BTW, you have to be gone to be raided). Gold is no problem, you can just raid it back quickly.
Another thing is that there are many defensive structures you can build, and you can reaarange your buildings freely. A good arrangement is enough to scare off most players.
Edit:
A player gets progressively less/more resources from a raid(ie. from you) depending on your level. If you're at a higher level, you get less from raiding a lower level player. The opposite is also true.

1. Not exactly an energy system, but long story short: yes.

2. Once u get to a certain level, yes.

3. Yes.

4. Yes?

5. Its even less engaging, you just choose where to spawn them in the battlefield. And that's all you do.

6. It does not. I'd barely even call it multiplayer.

I won't lie, I did play it for a quite awhile. I enjoyed it moderately. But got bored eventual.

Smosh Games, huh?

Ahhhhh...fine. Just this once. I guess.

EDIT: So after that possibly biased "honest" trailer that didn't go into too much detail, uh...

Hmm. Will the desktop version spam me with 10k notifications? How much ram does it drain? I guess I could be open to at least playing this multiplayer a bit maybe. Already have another game with a similar (not really) grind to this that I play...alone, so don't need to start up another in that fashion.

Somehow I got into a game kinda like this. It's called Bloons Monkey City and it's alright as there is no energy system, you can play as much as you like. Plus, the Bloon Tower Defense series are great.

Why not play another game that involves wait times while you wait for the other game to finish, & then you can get a third game into the equation until you become the master of them.

Have you tried other MMO games? There's this game I used to play called ANTZZ. It was pretty fun, but MMOs start to get boring for me because of waiting times, but you might be good at it. Also it's pretty educational in a certain insect & I bet you'd never guess what it is.

Bingo, you win an all expenses paid trip to Sockville, the glorious home of Socky & the Silk Sock. You also win a complete set of a, "Do it Yourself, Lobster Farm"(c)

Also there is this other online game I used to play called Human Age, it was also fun until you forget for a couple days, but it doesn't have waiting times up the wa-zoo like other online games.
