You mean the one all the way at the bottom of the page, or a "click here to reply and copy what the person you're replying to just said" thing?
Because it's not hard to copy-paste lines of text and add an italics <> pair and quote marks to it.

Well, if people used the nested view rather than flat, I think it'd be fine. Copy+pasting in italic is also fine. A quoting feature is unnecessary.

A few years ago I wrote my own Greasemonkey script that would automatically quote a post upon pressing the reply button. I used it for a while but never released it because it was so unrefined. These days I usually use bold and italics of what the other person said if I want to point something out.

Interestingly enough the feature formerly existed here and was removed when the site got updated many years ago.

Oh yeah, that's a good point. I have no recollection of it, but if you look at the oldest posts on this forum, you'll notice they look pretty atrocious... I wonder if the old message board added some formatting into it. Then again, the old board looked pretty atrocious altogether, so maybe that was all it ever did. I'd guess nested view was designed as a replacement for the old quote system.

@Scratch, Is it possible for the staff to change the site in ways other than banning Skurn or is Redink the only one that can?

Its no use, Dack. All the scrubs of the internet gather here because they can't get banned.

I can't remember either but I think it placed a white box around those lines beginning with a colon. I'm almost tempted to make a little userscript to make it work again.

Yes, I was asking other members because you have no reason to be this way. I may nag a bit towards the permanent trolls here from time to time, but that's it.

Don't think I got a funny feeling when I pressed submit, but it also seems unnatural for you two to fight, and it would be nice to know if we can implement a quoting feature, so if I ever want to quote someone I won't need to copy and paste and other things.
