Who else wants to see screenshots of CC3
I do If you do say Yes
Yes.
Yes.
Yeah, sure, why not.
If i could i would pay sabretrout atleast $5 to finish it maybe even $10.
You severely undervalue his skill.
HEY!
Thats better then what most other people are doing right now atleast im giving him something If everybody on the site would pay him $5 or $10 that would atleast add up to $200.

No, you overvalue Pred's capital. I'm sure he's offering a significant amount of money, even if it doesn't look like it to you.

Sabre already said he was done with it. If he wanted he could release it as is. There's not much of a point in teasing us if we know the project will never be completed.
Maybe if we pay him him it might motivate him.
*Sigh*
Look, let's put this to bed once and for all. I'd love to finish Cloud Castle 3. So would Arik. However, d-mod creation is a time consuming task and it's very difficult to justify the amount of time and effort it would take to make CC3. We've talked about this recently and to finish the series would make us both extremely happy... but it's 99% certain not going to happen.
The audience isn't large enough to justify the workload. Even if it was, it's very difficult for us to find the time to work on something like this - We're adults with adult lives. Time is our the important commodity we have and as nice as it is that you'd be willing to offer money, you'd never be able to raise enough money to enable us to justify the time.
I'd love to work on an RPG with Arik again. But in the Dink engine? I don't think so. Not now.
Maybe we should do a Kickstarter, hehe?
Again, thanks for the interest. But don't hold your breath. And, please, stop making new topics about the game. Keep it to one thread if you can.
Much love.

Remember that many of the greatest artists, playwrights and composers often created their works for only a handful of people In fact, many of the most famous paintings were commisioned by just one man. Shakespear never had a big audience during his day and some of Mozart's pieces were written just for his own amusement.
I think the justification is in the process, not in the result or in how many people "consume" the result Let's be honest, there wasn't a big enough audience to justify it 10 years ago either, but that didn't stop anyone
I'll admit that leading an adult life does obviously change your priorities and it IS all about making choices in how to spend your spare time (a valuable commodity indeed!), but...
to finish the series would make us both extremely happy.
I think that's 'nuff said Look for your justification there. After all, happiness is THE most important commodity

I write books just because I enjoy it, I make games because it's fun, I draw art because it makes me happy. Sure, I share them with people, (Mostly the art, but sometimes the stories and eventually the games) and sometimes it's only a few people who see it.
But it doesn't matter, the people who see it are treated to a rare and hidden treat that may or may not get spread around the world.

I slightly agree with abs, minus the swearing, and Sabre why not give the project to someone else trusted, like Kris?
BAAAAAD idea there, Dack. Not only do i have no idea how to use the Dink engine, or script much less, but I haven't played CC 1 and 2 and would most likely ruin the whole series. I'll stick with what I do and what I know, and Sabre can finish CC3 at his own time. Anyone else would just ruin it.
But Sabre you stole our hearts with CC2 and to a small extent CC1
And about what Kris said about the smaller groups creating better things that is definatly true you look at EA and how crap they are
Sabretrout and Redink1 are the best D-modders ever (No i dont think SimonK is the best hes little bit overated)
Ive played CC1 and CC2 but it just wouldnt feel right unless the orignal creators Sabre and Arik finished it.
Could atleast show us some screenshots.

There was a post here, but it turned out to be irrelevant.
I agree with Pun a little, but maybe let someone else join in the group then, Rob?
Also I too have not fully played both CCs, mainly in 2 those boncas shoot me to death.

Just passed CC2 for the 3rd time dam that sabre can really used to make a D-mod
What do you think will give Sabre enough motovation to finish CC3 CC2 pretty much ended on a cliffhanger and it the series so far feels so unfinshed just so many questions to ask so many possibilities.
You know what i might work on my Cannibal D-mod to prove to Sabre if he has enough will along with Arik he can do it

We did talk with Sabre about me helping him with CC3. We agreed that he'd still be in control of everything, but me & Arik would just do all the D-Modding work for him (with his assistance at points, of course). But Sabre pretty much forgot about that whole thing, so I figured I wasn't gonna bother him about CC3 anymore. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to see it made and see what happens to all the characters etc. but if the man doesn't want to make it, then he doesn't, and I think we should just leave him alone about it. It's not like we can force him. Besides, we all know it's already tearing him apart inside. He'd really want to finish it, but can't, and I'm sure we aren't helping by constantly begging for the game.

On the Dink Network?!

He'd really want to finish it
Thats why im trying to motovate him i will admit the odd of CC3 being released are about 10 to 1 heck even a demo or screenshots are not likely to be in a pictures i still beleive Sabre can still do it i still sense of bit of the legend still in him
The only thing he needs is inspration which going to show him by trying to finish the Cannibal D-mod

I'm dreading the moment we're gonna have to give him negative feedback on his D-Mod.
There is something we can do that happened on a family guy episode, kidnap him and make him do it.
@Skull, are you dreading negative feedback for Pred or Sabre, I'm not dreading giving Pred negative feedback since he might leave for a while.

All this talk about CC3 reminds me I should be working on my DMOD. Hehehe.

Same.

True, but what if he has other projects that would make him more happy?
the series so far feels so unfinshed just so many questions to ask so many possibilities.
Maybe Sabre could compromise and finish the series as a story rather than a game.

But then I'd have to play the other 2 if it was a story instead of play through. Also I expected you to also say you need to work on your dmod.

Neverrrrrrrr!
Neverrrrrrrr!
are you even working on a dmod?
You're going to hate us so much if we release CC3 and it's bad, heh.

Too be honest Yes.
Becasue you won my heart with CC2 Sabre and for you to break it with CC3 being crap i hope that never happens

Im going show sabre that even a Novice D-modder can create a simple short somewhat playable D-mod

I want to play Christiaan's big d-mod. I can't remember the name of it now, but I'd like to have seen where it got to, even if it's never going to see the light of day.

Just take a look at Dink and the Bonca. I made that with no prior knowledge of DinkC or other game making experience, and it turned out pretty successful. It wasn't perfect, but it was playable, and people liked it.

Dinkulum you're just saying that so when you release your dmod next week everyone will be omega-surprised.
As much as I love Dink I think it's the right decision to make your RPG in another environment with less limitations and easier distribution if you ever got time to create one. You could still create a thread for it here so we could follow the development and/or try it...
BE sure to keep us updated if you ever start such a project! ^^
