What is that you say? Cheap games? Pay whatever I want? That's right! I've compiled a list of places to get games cheap whether through bundles and/or pay what you want sites. This is very helpful to the PC gamer on a budget. I check these almost daily and have bought quite a few of them over the past year or so. Most of the games on sale are indie, but they are definitely worth looking into.

Before I list the sites, I just want to give a few words of advice: All of these sites have their own quirks. Some offer DRM free versions, some offer only steam keys etc. Some you have to pay a certain amount to unlock extras or steam keys. Just be sure you actually read what you're buying before you buy it and you should be 100% okay. Finally, be aware of any international fees that may be applicable to you.

Pay what you want / Cheap bundle sites

(1)Humble Bundle
(2) IndieGameStand
(3)Indie Royale
(4) The Indie Gala
(5)Bundle In A Box
(6) indiebundle.org
(7)Bundle Stars
(8) Groupees

Other sites worth mentioning

These aren't actually bundle sites or anything like that, but can help you get good deals on games or even free games.

Is There Any Deal
Here you can search for games on sale across multiple retailers.

Steam Gifts
Users hold drawings for games. You enter the game using points which are awarded to everyone whenever someone on the site makes a new giveaway (You can only hoard up to 300 pts btw). The winner is steam gifted the prize by the person hosting it.

Steam Game Deals
This site finds deals for steam games whether it be by sales or promo codes.

I hope these sites help you guys. If you know of any more, don't hesitate to post them here and I will try to keep this post updated. I've listed the ones I know, but hopefully there are more that will pop up through this thread. Happy deal hunting!

Thanks Quiztis and rabidwolf. I bought the humble bundle 8 after seeing Quiztis's comment, and it was the first indy bundle I've bought. I've only played Hotline: Miami to far (the highest rated game included) and it is amazing! It's a great bird's eye view ultraviolent game with trippy visuals and a stylistic story. Worth it just for that. I'm tempted to buy the other bundles now...

I splurged and bought 4 bundles over the past few weeks. My list of "play eventually" games continues to grow

I didn't try out Hotline Miami until last night and it was very fun. I also played through Thomas Was Alone and it was excellent as well: Simple mechanics, yet captivating story and excellent narration. I couldn't put it down and beat it in one sitting (3 hours.) Will get back to Hotline Miami later. It's great to play on the big screen with your family/friends watching

The great part is that for a lot of these bundle sites, more games will be released into it later on and you will get those too.

Oooohkay. =P It didn't strike me as a family game, exactly, although the game is cool indeed. It reminded me a lot of the old Tapan Kaikki, if anyone's familiar with those games.

Hotline Miami is where all good things lie. A superb game. My friend's brother worked on a few of the tracks and is also the creator of Lone Survivor, if any of you hotshots know about that game.

Again, Hotline Miami. Hot. Hot. Heat.

I need an invite. What is the nonsense?

My name is tigerswiftly and I would appreciate it if all suitably high tier dinkers would add me. That means pretty much all of you, to be fair.

Miraculous.
Accept my friend request and I'll see if I can throw you in there.

Edit: Not sure if I've successfully sent you the invite to the group, in one option it works and in another it doesn't list it.

Gee, I'm not even going to start. Look deeply inside yourself and study the previous posts please.

There is a disturbance in the force between me and MsDink it seems. Uhh, I can't see the problem though.

I thought that hotline miami might be a bit too fast and violent for a 97 year old lady msdink but hey you mustn't still be 97? Got your letter from the queen yet?

I'm getting sucked into buying stuff for Steam argh. The games are sometimes so cheap I've even bought games I own for the convenience of having electronic copies I can download at any time, or 'game of the year' editions that come with expansion packs that I don't have. I bought the adventure games from Telltale in the last weekly sale from humble bundle. Now the serious sam set is on humble hundle I'll probably get that too. (The SS games are awesomely fun co-op mindless first person shooters where you constantly fight against an enormous number of stupid enemies. I wouldn't play them on my own though.)

I currently have 88 games on Steam..

lol Someone I will be 97 forever, I will never age! ... and I bought the game for a friend - but they have moral issues around the maker so wont use it hence its up for grabs - anyone?

Can I suggest at 88 games u have a few more to go before u hit one for each year i have lived - when u do then u can poke me about my letter that I may or may not have received... looks out the window and whistles...tho Some-one... not mentioning anyone in particular (coff) may have his own letter soon -

Theres a couple of games I see you dont have yet (you need 9 before u can mention my age again) - U gotta have 'Dont Starve' it is now complete and is awesomeness on a stick - u havent got Terraria dont look at my time playing that - and I see u want Unwritten Tales - not sure this is for you, is fun but pretty easy, tho u are an aussy so maybe after a few beers it will be a challange for u hehe (tho halfway thru i took a break and am now stuck ..) and there's a sequel too (Critter chronicles) i have there waiting as well. Tho being of the old generation I hate waste so go play what you have, keep yer cheek to yourself and u will have your own letter before u know it haha

Edit : Leppy 251 days to be exact heh

Had a moment there where I thought you were talking about Sam and Max and you were being all critical of the FPS generation and I was all like "good show, Someone! That achieved a genuine LOL" and then I realised you were actually talking about Serious Sam and were in fact accurately describing the product.

Hmph.

I want to try Don't Starve. Thomas was Alone is pretty quaint.

The graphics were what drew me to Dont Starve at first (endured the beta testing and watched it get harder and harder heh) - but its hard in a good way (DONT!) and u can make it harder by changing your world before u start - its a little like nethack as theres hidden layers u find out what things do as u go on, sad theyve left u little camping sites round the worlds now tho - used to have to make everything yourself...

I may have shaved some 'beefalo' for winter clothing tonight - aww theyre so miserable looking heh,its a crafting game at its best i think

Hope u get it Sabre - you can kill hours just to die to a rabid pig/warepig ior stoopid bird after u (tho u may have stolen its egg...) sigh.

Yeah sorry SabreTrout, unfortunately misreadings of my comments do tend to be wittier than my actual comments.

Definitely not short for games now so I'm not sure if I will check out Don't Starve and Terraria. Plus I never got the appeal of Minecraft so I'm a bit wary about sandbox crafting games even with good reviews.

I'm using my wishlist just to remind me about interesting games in case they go on sale. In regards to unwritten tales, I like playing the new point-and-click adventure games, although they are hit-or-miss (usually miss). I really want to recommend the Deponia games (two of them). They are really as good as Monkey Island 1 & 2 and have the same feel. Also, I played through the first Sam and Max episode in the Telltale bundle and it is really good too (season 3, episode 1?). I vaguely remember playing an earlier season Sam and Max episode and not liking it, but season 3 looks a winner. Although you get drenched in clues for the puzzles, so it's more of a humorous adventure with 'pretend' puzzles.

Also I'm looking forward to catching up with two games I missed when they were released (System Shock 2 and Vampire bloodlines)!

weekly sale Alan Wake for $1 still going strong.

My friend let me borrow a bunch of games today and I started with Alan Wake. I cleared the first four chapters so far. This game is amazing. I think I might keep a flashlight next to my bed for the next few weeks though.
