Deleted my facebook
I just deleted my facebook. This feels...good. Really good. I feel so free.
Honestly, facebook disgusted me. All I ever saw on my news feed was people complaining about first world problems and being miserable for no good reason. Everything thing was about feels and trying adapt to a certain kind of self identity. People go on facebook and put on these digital costumes so everyone else can judge them accordingly. To me it felt like the ultimate sign of conformity to the worlds standards and showed a lack of ability to create ones own identity.
It was nice to communicate with my friends, but my other "friends" (and me too when I was younger) let it degenerate their sense of self. I just couldn't stand to log on anymore out of principle and preference.
No more "Haters gonna hate so please stfu ", "I freaking hate not having a boyfriend" and "gonna go get smashed with my hommies#yolo".
This is sounds like edgy-teenager rhetoric, I know. I just got sick of it and now I feel like I've broken chains that anchored me down with immaturity.
Thoughts and experiences? Results?

I'm cool with my Facebook. I've subscribed to my favorite things only and blocked feeds from my friends on a regular basis, if they decided to post crap on their walls. I mostly hate random sentimental pictures that make no sense whatsoever, like the ones girls (or worse, boys) usually post.
I get that, my best friend does the same thing. He uses it as an emailing system mostly. I just couldn't stand what was on it anymore, even from my actual friends. I feel disconnected from the world now that it's gone, albeit in a good way. Everything on facebook just felt so false to me.
Yes, the pictures are godawful. The amount of vanity and self-importance that can go into an instagrammed profile picture blows my mind.

When I have 'friends' who do nothing but complain about bullshoot or just otherwise act like idiots, I allow myself a little time to de-stress by trolling them endlessly about the problem. Unless, of course, it actually is a legitimate problem. Then I give advice.
I stay miles away from the devil's electronic spawn. Only once registered to get a free League of Legends skin and then deactivated it forever.
I'm not sure if I could ever do that. I've moved around a lot and have friends all across the country, some even in other countries. So it's pretty much the only/best/easiest way to keep in contact with all of them.
I haven't deleted my facebook but I my as well have seeing as I only log in about once every month or two...
I just find it kind of pretentious to be talking to people you know in person online alllll the time when you could visit them for a much better experience. And the way I think is that if someone isn't important enough to visit them than I don't feel a huge urge to talk to them online either.
I'll probably keep my facebook just in case I ever need to advertise anything I've made. But I really don't see much use to it other than that and very rarely leaving a short comment to a friend or replying to a message.

All my friends use it, so I only use it to contact friends, it's just your more evil kind of message board after all.
@Thenewguy
I think the reason people would rather talk on Facebook is, let's face it, it's much easier to talk to someone through a screen than face to face. You know that hot girl in your class? It would be "safer" to talk to her in a way that gives you time to think and not feel so on the spot. Look at all of the people in today's world that joke about not having any real world friends and living on the internet. It isn't healthy, but it's an easier way of satisfying man's basic instinct to socialize.

I haven't used it since 2010 and I have all messages from it set to automatically redirect into the trash folder. Social networking sites are one of the greatest threats to privacy out there.
Can we delete someone else's Facebook account?
