can not find the axe anymore

i did read all topics here and also the walkthrough at http://solutions.ultraprison.net/wiki/Green_Voice_in_my_Head_%28The%29_-_Part_I
i smashed with the axe the lonely barrel and 2 of the 3. after all throws i found the axe again. at the island with the golden heart and at the islands in east where u need to blow up the stone to go south.
but now is 1 of the 3 barrels left but i cant find the axe anymore
i hope someone can give me a hint where else the axe could be

Uh, it should be east. I think directly south of the castle there is a rock you have to blow up and it's in the tree down there.
at one barrel you loose the axe entirely - its best to make sure you do them in a particular order...
you may need to use a backup/save game and redo in a different order

This is how it used to be. But with the update, this is no longer the case.
The axe is east (just south of the rock you blew up), but only if you threw it to the east. If you stand in the right spot, you can hit all those three barrels in one throw. Then it will be east of there.
What you describe sounds like you were throwing south. That doesn't sound like a problem, though. You've hit all the barrels that are unreachable without the axe.

Yeah..and don't can me for 'necro-ing' this thread but some future players (who don't use the walkthrough)might appreciate it..(SPOILER) there's an order to throwing your axe. 1. get to the island with the gold heart (thru the entrance in the grass nth of the ruins) talk to the nth tree. It will tell you to throw it and the axe will stay in the tree and you can get it back by again going back to the island.
2. stand to the left of the island with the 3 barrels and throw it..I didn't know it could be retrieved after blowing that rock ..I am out of bombs though I think unless I can find that bottle of wine. grrr.
The barrel count has stopped now..I believed I can get the clawsword now..I can't sell the 3rd apple and the voice wants to eat it..but Dink isn't hungry. Gotta figure THAT out now.
