DFArc not working properly.

Whenever I try to play HH2 on DFArc, it gives me a weird Finnish error message. It doesn't make any sense. It opens every other D-Mod just fine but not HH2. I tried making a new folder and copying everything from HH2 there, it didn't work. Neither did it work when I installed Dink elsewhere. WinDinkEdit also seems to crash when I try to load HH2's minimap. This is bizarre.

First you might try to remove all spaces from the directory name. DFArc doesn't like spaces in DMOD directories.

No spaces. It's just like before. Just not working after I got my laptop working again. Perhaps some things were lost when I moved it to the laptop with my memory stick?

The game works fine if I move the main folders (story, sound, tiles, graphics) into a new folder, and if I move the .dat files in the new folder, but not if I move both of them. After I move both of them in the new folder, that's when the problem occurs.

Would packaging it do anything?

Try reinstalling it?

Tried both those. Neither one helped.

So it doesn't work in WinDinkEdit either? Where is the HH2 downloaded? It should be in program files>dinksmallwood along with the other dmods. Maybe it's the location.

It's in the right location. Otherwise it wouldn't appear in DFArc. As I said, it has something to do with the combination of the main fodlers and the .dat files.

Well then I don't know what it is. Sorry.

A graphic problem maybe? It doesn't like some graphic of yours for some reason, and crashes when it tries to load it on the map (which would explain why it works without the graphics folder, or without map.dat). Since everything used to work before, updating your video and sound drivers, DirectX, etc might also help... (If you formatted the laptop that is, or it's just out of date compared to whatever you had HH2 on before)

It could also be something worse, like a corrupted .dat file. Something like that happened to me while I was making my contest entry actually, I couldn't launch the dmod and the map got ducked up so that wrong tiles were pasted on the bottom of each screen and all the hardness was batshoot (luckily I had a backup from only about an hour earlier).

About WinDinkedit crashing though, WTF, it didn't do that to you before?

AHA!! That's it! The drivers! That was one of the biggest problems when trying to fix the laptop. There were about 10 drivers missing! Me and my father searched and found only about half of them, but the laptop seemed to work even with some missing. But it seems Dink needs some that we weren't able to find (although it seems weird that the other D-Mods work).
