The Elder Scrolls Online
Long rumored and much anticipated, The Elder Scrolls Online is finally being unveiled in the June issue of Game Informer. In this month's cover story we journey across the entire land of Tamriel, from Elsweyr to Skyrim and everywhere in between.
... Players will discover an entirely new chapter of Elder Scrolls history in this ambitious world, set a millennium before the events of Skyrim as the daedric prince Molag Bal tries to pull all of Tamriel into his demonic realm.
The Elder Scrolls Online is scheduled to come out in 2013 for both PC and Macintosh.

The fact that it is being revealed in such a discrete way does not bode well for the game I'm afraid... The fact that it's farmed out to some other unknown company ruins any anticipation I might have felt about the game anyway.

Hmm, yeah. In some way, I guess it's a good thing, since it doesn't mean Bethesda has turned their attention to MMORPGs, and must instead be developing the single-player TES VI that they should be! (or Fallout 4, or whatever =)
I'm not sure what to think. The few MMORPGs I've tried I didn't like, but since it's the ES universe, I'm curious to see it, at least.

MMORPG's rarely work... TBH, I immensely dislike most MMO's, because to make a seriously good one requires serious design and not just "omg, lets turn this franchise into an online vending machine/ casino!"
What are some ones you do like? I haven't played any, so I'm curious what makes a good one.
Edit: I take that back. I've played a little bit of Spiral Knights.

Its also Morrowinds tenth anniversary and in its honor its time for another playthrough. or i was lied to and its still young.

Either you've been playing Runescape, or somehow you heard about the Squeal of Fortune they implemented and have been advert-who***** to everyone, alongside advert boxes to Member players. *sigh*.
Runescape has some awesome story background with its quests, but otherwise you just described what everyone playing its been feeling.
Back on topic though! Assuming TES-Online actually happens I doubt I'd take a look at it. I've yet to even play Skyrim
Maybe I'll look at a trailer video for it (if one gets made), just out of curiosity, but I don't think a series that has done so well on SP would work out online.

I do not like the Elder Scrolls and throw a flaming gourd at this announcement.
@ SabreTrout: You N'wah!
you guys are still just a bunch of S'wits
.

I was going to say that, then I took an arrow to the knee...

That joke was dead the moment it showed up.
Skyrim sucked by the way. Overhyped up the ass.

Umm... ZeniMax is the parent company of Bethesda Softworks. For me it's the fact that they finally sold out and loaded Skyrim with malware that kills my anticipation.

Are you referring to Steam? I have not heard of this and am curious as to what you're referring to.

Hmm, it may just a matter of definition. Definitely a (P)UP, though...
Meanwhile, this screenshot killed most of my anticipation for TES Online.
