Dink and the 4 towers

like the title said sofar only s a concept for a D-mod.
the idea is: Dink needing to go to the place where those 4 towers are build(maybe some sort of palace or dunno yet) and those towers are know for their monstrous challenges(more specifically fighting monsters inside them). and known for just 1 guy ever beating all 4 of them. also want it so Dink is more or less forced to live tough all 4 towers(and don't want it to end there also thinking for either 2 hidden towers or dungeons for after the towers(first story second optional and endless(there all other tower challenges reappear and more(more specifically all other tower bosses appear in that one and more bosses(the more i think of and the more are donated the more fun it should be).

hope it is a good concept and members are willing to help(either by donating bosses(and if needed graphics) or if i am stuck on scripts helping to fix then when i begin the mod.

what i can share sofar it'll use scripted stairs and several predesigned floors per tower and/or dungeon and scripted monster spawning.(to A: safe space on the map for bosses and such and B: the only way the optional one truly can be endless)

hope to get enough support if so will start it (and the support can bo be moral and in development.

a boss at the top of every tower?

I mean, you could go and make all the towers in one building, or you could spread them out and make it more epic sized than a quest or romp.

well maybe there will be one but dunno yet. but i do know i will spread them a bit but will see i do know if i k=make it there will be more to explore then just the towers(the province or island they are on and such)

If you don't feel like doing an Epic, or even a quest, then don't. Sometimes people say they're gonna make an epic, then they don't suddenly feel like it, and the whole project will fall. If anything, build it slowly and see where it leads to.

I'm very interested in how this is going to turn out.

i officially started it nothing much just the map i'm doing(outsides so far and some Dink main game music i've used(and now trying to fins some for the towers and the 1 or 2 outside totally optional areas

will add a forest it'll be a small one most likely populated by Bonca's and pillbug's.
and might ad a cave which will be populated by again Bonca's and the ever so annoying but oh so good for EXP slimers.

keep in mind they won't drop interesting goodies and won't be nowhere near as goo to earn money as the towers and are so that if you get bored by the towers themselves dink can get a breather(or for if you'd want get some exp under your belt and maybe buy some weapons before tacklng the main quest of conqering the hopefully randomly generated towers((i can gurantee that their somewhat randomly but don't think that the engine can create the screens randomly themselves(i know how to make it so that it can select randomly chosen layouts but dunno if i can make the layouts random too though)

Looks to me like your D-mod is in a bit of a "too early for screenshots" stage to be honest. A good start to know how you want the area's bordering to be laid out, but there's no decor and very little currently mapped in my opinion.

Keep at it though; If you get to a stage where you can test-play and you think its worthwhile, in-game screenshots work wonders for preview snaps.

Throw in some wall cracks, maybe some moss/vines, some holes. It'll look much better.

The "dungeon" screenshot looks good. Although it could be much better. The other screenshot looks like... you have done absolutely nothing but the tiles. You are planning to add some trees/rocks/bushes etcetera, right?

yeah i'm planning to add trees rocks and such and even a small town but the scriptomg pf the pillbug took quite lot of time(and well hope the overcrowding bug is foxed now(now it is setup that it reinitilizes the counter per hit so hpe that that will fix the too many spawned bugs bug because the engine seemingly can only handle so much pillbugs and not how many MR splitting pillbug can spawn) and well the dungeon screenshot is basicly a beta mockup and will add more decorations like cracked walls vines moss whatever(after getting the random floor chooser ready which i know will be a lot easier than the pillbug(which isn't tested enough yet)

also there will be monsters on the floors but those will be script placed so also randomly chosen

Status update for those interested

1. the random layout checker base is done(was a cinch and will be updated so that later towers can have more layout choices
2. the music selector for in dungeons is semi done(seems to have bug that once it chooses midi won't change for a new one)
3. boss spawner base is ready(right now only has 1 boss of 5 or 6 planned bosses)

important to do's

1. exterior(everything outside of the towers)
2. write the monster spawner for in dungeons
3. chest in dungeon to encourage exploring

after finishing 2 of the todo's i need some willing beta testers(dunno how long it'll take but don't expect it to take too long(as for the beta i don't think the first beta will have too much non tower interiors but will have some)
