Great dmod! Just two things bothered me: At the start, I tried going upstairs, but the guy said there was nothing for me there. Then I automatically walked back, but I walked into the table. So I ended up in hardness without a way to continue.
Second is that I spend several bombs on the rock which I wanted to blow up. The reason is that if I drop a bomb when I have exactly one, it consumes the bomb, but doesn't actually place it. So The last bomb is just "lost".
Oh and one that doesn't really count: the potion fairy sells a mass fireball scroll (cool idea!), but says the dmod author didn't implement any scrolls when asked for info.
But these are minor things. The gameplay is great, the mapping is nice, I like the fact that there are so many potions scattered around the world.
I'm looking forward to part two.

Thanks for the feedback! Good to know you liked it! I was just wondering how long it would take for somebody to find some bugs.
The bugs should be easy to fix, I'll look into them some time. I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to adding an update with more scrolls, I had a couple planned, but we'll see.
Hahahaha! So am I, shevek, so am I...

It's been a long time since I've tried any D-Mods. Perhaps I should play this one tonight.
Yea, the bomb bug is pretty annoying. I really liked how items stacked though, well, except for the swords. It kinda ended with like no warning. Too bad you didn't finish that first trial, and then end it.
You also might have used too many ellipses.
Like, "Talking talking…" you used an ellipse because you don't have room to finish, but then you start the next sentence with, "… more talking" So if you put it together it'd look like, "Talking talking…… more talking."
You only need one set.

As in, you didn't like the fact that swords didn't stack?

As in, the swords didn't stack, but that's cool. They shouldn't stack anyways. Kinda surprised you couldn't sell the swords back.

Yes, that plus the fact that you specifically required to buy one made me think you probably needed that later when you couldn't buy it anymore. Which wasn't the case.
I just bought all the swords, hoping that I wouldn't have problems with inventory slots, which turned out to be correct.
Well, I didn't buy the drainage sword, because it was too expensive. Also, I think it wouldn't have been very useful. When attacking a scorpion, it wouldn't be possible to use it. When attacking any other hard monster, there'd be so many dropped items, that some of them are always big hearts. So no need to let the sword heal you.
Actually, the gameplay might be nicer if there wouldn't be so many hearts. Then you'd be forced to buy and use healing potions. That would make the drainage sword worth its money as well, especially in places where there's no shop around.
Also, those unburnable trees are asking for a more powerful fireball which can unlock secrets. Or perhaps there is a way to burn them, which I missed...
Actually, while checking that, I seem to have missed a large side-quest. Cool. I'll go play that.

Oh one more thing. I don't usually miss such things. The reason was another bug: when a stone is blown up, it returns after you've left the screen. That's really bad, because it costs another (expensive) bomb. If this was intentional, then the bomb seller should warn about it, so you can stack some extra bombs.

So many things need fixing!! Hahaha!
I'll hopefully look into them sometime soon.
Also, the unburnable trees are burnable, you just need to use either the sword of destruction or the mass fireball.

i liked this dmod.
The weapon seller in the place where you can rent rooms freezes if i exit the menu. If i rent a room, i can't get out of it.
i couldn't learn more magic from the fairy that said something about the ring at midnight, and couldn't get past some cave that had some poles that hurt you 15 hp, and couldn't find camelot.
Still managed to finish it and get the ending and as i said, i liked this game

Not at all. For such a big adventure, a remarkable amount of things work fine.
the unburnable trees are burnable, you just need to use either the sword of destruction or the mass fireball.
Well, yes, but some of them are still unburnable, even with both of those methods. This is the case for example with the trees to the south of Enderville, which block a vertical wall (just east of the cave with human hunters). For the rest, they seem to be randomly scattered. This entire line seems to be hiding something, though.

"The weapon seller in the place where you can rent rooms freezes if i exit the menu. If i rent a room, i can't get out of it."
I'll add that to the list!
"i couldn't learn more magic from the fairy that said something about the ring at midnight, and couldn't get past some cave that had some poles that hurt you 15 hp, and couldn't find camelot."
Yeah, I never got around to implementing that extra magic, just like I never got around to implementing more scrolls. The game would really benefit from a bit of magic, but I've always failed to perfect it.
Yeah, the mystery about the sailor's hat dude thing was going to be explained in part 2, if it ever comes.
Camelot is to the north, I hid it quite well, but it's there!
"Well, yes, but some of them are still unburnable, even with both of those methods."
Ahh, yes, I remember now! Quite a few trees are placed strategically to hide mismatches in tiles (if you open up the editor and move them around you will notice this). Particularly in the snowy regions, I mismatched a lot of tiles to create unique leveling that you normally wouldn't be able to do, and I hid the bad connections with trees or rocks.

That annoyed me enough to fix it myself. You can find a new version of il2-man2.c here.
I was too lazy to always make it unfreeze the seller, but it does always unfreeze dink.

DinkDude,
Thank you for a wonderful D-mod. I enjoyed it a lot. I've come across all the bugs reported in this thread and I did finish the game but Camelot is nowhere to be found
A small hint would be helpful...........

It's north, if that helps.
Really far north.
Really far north.
Probably in the final area, I never fully explored that since I went into the final cave and then there was no exit. Or boss, that was a let down.
"Probably in the final area, I never fully explored that since I went into the final cave and then there was no exit. Or boss, that was a let down."
No, it's in the snowy part of the Iceland (OMG MEGA-HINT).
There's a boss and an exit! They're towards the south-east section of the cave system after a series of thin tunnels, I think.

Really? The boss wasn't guarding the gate then. I swear I went through that entire cave like three times looking for a way back out to the icelands. The only exit ends the game, and the boss would be like two mega slimes and two scorpions then. If that's what you mean.
Yeah, there isn't a way back to the Icelands. I guess it wouldn't be bad to have one, though, maybe if I eventually do an update.
Yeah, that's the boss(es).

ARGGGGG and there is no part 2 but thank you for the answer to the riddle
Poor Dink is running around and freezing his balls off looking for Camelot in vein......
I was thinking of making the riddle something morbidly inappropriate just like in Pilgrim's Quest with something like 'Boobies', but went against my better judgement.

I suppose you mean in the store in the bar? That one is very broken. Replace it with the file I linked earlier in this thread and it works fine.

Oh, I messed up another link.
Remove www.dinknetwork.com/ and it should work. So for convenience, that makes it

This D-Mod looks good so far. Really nice job, DinkDude. And I must praise you for picking that MIDI that plays outside Dink's house. I don't think any D-Mod has used that song in over a decade. It sent chills down my spine.

Great D-Mod. Like this one
Found Camelot, got Sword of Protection (nice, but already have one... why no sell option for swords?) and several potions. is that all? just two screen of camelot? don't know how to pass the stone blocking the road north.
Only three quest in Enderville? the scroll fairy, the trader quest and the fairy in the bar? where's the fishing fairy? and the fairy south of abandon house always busy?
what is the ring of mushroom quest for? there are no magic scroll avail after that quest (bought the mass-fire scroll before the quest)
I like the idea of Drainage Sword, but I prefer a more suitable name, Leech Sword..

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it.
Camelot isn't an area, it's just the two screens with the bonuses. If you listened closely to the mayor in Enderville you'll realise he says that he thinks the road is blocked.
A sell options for swords is not a bad idea! Didn't think of that.
I couldn't be arsed to actually put in the fishing fairy. And I don't really need any more fairies to progress the story.
The ring of mushrooms quest was originally intended to increase the magic capability for the game and make a whole nother side-story of magic progression available to Dink, but I never got around to finishing it.
The Leech Sword is a very suitable name for it! Not a bad idea!

Wow! Good to know this D-Mod is still getting some love.
