Everythings gone....
My computer has recently had a giant hardware breakdown everything has been destroyed on my computer including my d-mod that I have done about 300+ hours of work on over the past year. I AM going to restart my entire project but it will take many weeks for me to restart as I also lost all my Schoolwork and I must retype all of it.

That sucks man. Experienced the same thing a long time ago. A strain of light in the darkness is the knowledge you've grown with.... the importance of backups. Good luck with your future projects, make sure you don't forget this. 
Hey, that's too bad. Could you define giant hardware breakdown? There is a slight chance of recovery if it's not too serious.
Yes, recovery may be possible! Also you might want to try online backups. I use Jungle Disk. There's a monthly fee, but the backups happen automatically so you don't even have to think about them.
No it is serious I took it to a computer technician he said there is no way to get back anything and I have to buy a new laptop or reconfigure absoulutley everything >.< no chance of data back
When you bought a new computer, try to connect and access the old hard drive as a second hard drive, maybe some parts of it can be read.
GOT MY NEW LAPTOP! il be starting my project again in about a month!By the way the fan on my old comp stopped working so the bottom melted when i was downloading some big files so it scrapped the computer including the harddrive
