SabreTrout's farewell post made me realize something. You know, we all have been going around flaming, spamming and telling others they are the reason this site has begun sucking. I finally realize that I have been going around telling everyone that it has been ME who has kept this site alive, when in reality, it isn't. I realize I have had both positive, and negative effects on this site. People blame each other here all the time "You did this, you did that". We should finally start seeing the truth and say "I did this, I did that". We should realize that it depends on us all that this site is going so dang downhill. I don't know how SabreTrout feels about me, but to me, Sabre's been a good friend since I joined, and he's one of the few reasons I have been staying on this site for so long. Now he threatens to leave. I feel ashamed, that I've been a part of the reason he's leaving, as should everyone on this site. I hope you people are dang proud now that you've caused such a great old-timer to leave, because I sure am not. This whole thing has gone completely ridiculous. This site has gone completely ridiculous. The fact that I feel so ashamed to be a part of this site, and so miserable, that I have to post this kind of a post, shows that it has gone way overboard. The fact that SabreTrout is saying he's going to leave (even if just briefly) shows how ridiculous this thing has become.

I know there are going to be messages like "Don't try to act like staff", "Don't try to be like some sort of a savior of this site" or just plain "Skull sucks so I'm not gonna listen to him". Those kind of messages are exactly one of the reasons this site has gone so downhill. I say it's time we quit this stupidity, and instead focus on the good aspects, and try to increase them. If there's a spammer/flamer, let's stop responding to him, ignore him, or talk sensibly to him. Let's try to keep our shoot together. We're all Dinkers, we're all here cause we love The Dink Network and Dink Smallwood. We should all stick together instead of fighting each other. I'll sure as dang will from now on! That's a promise!

This post has gone into ridiculous aspects and ridiculous length, but there's one more thing:

If it has gone to the length that people like SabreTrout are going to leave, then so am I, cause if that's really happening, I don't feel like a part of this site anymore, and neither should any of you.

And why did he decide to leave? Because of people like you, because of people like me and because of every dang idiot on this site, who has decided it's better off to just spam and flame, than to enjoy this site and actually contribute to it.

I know this thread is, at some point, going to turn into just another flamewar. Just cause modern Dinkers can't keep their hands off the keyboard for some reason. I'll be happy to inform that I will not be taking part in any future flamewar. Instead of being the guy who always hangs in here fighting. Instead I'm the guy who checks in here every few days to only see flaming, and then finally realize it's pointless to hang in here. Why? Why can't others see the error of their ways too? Already you're trying to start some sort of a fight. What's the point? You could be doing something totally different, making a D-Mod, or posting happy messages instead. Or at least try to see the point of my post, instead of trying to make some sort of a joke on it based on one sentence in them.

I see now what Tal was trying to tell me a few weeks back. Maybe I should just give up and leave this site to rot, like he did.

I wouldn't see you as the problem. The problem is that there's not many really active people, and so all we see is predator DD and Godley mostly. It's not a booming site. Leaving wont settle anything.

I'll be better now, I will contribute to the site(working on a mod and an addon) and won't flame/spam. Forgive me guys. I'll ignore predator's provocations now.

I sure dang agree, this site has gone from dinky to messy with users attacking like never before. I won't be part of this site either if this continues. It's like the site is done for even with the high activity.

Then become an active member. The problem is not me, not you nor any single person. It's us all and our combination. People don't need to hang here as much as DD, Godley, Predator or me, just to be an active member. You're an active member by contributing pleasant things to the site, every few days or so.

Back in the days, people didn't know DinkC, so they either learned it, and made a D-Mod, or if they felt like they couldn't learn it, they contributed to the site by being a known face at the forums. So what's to stop people from doing the same now? Ignore the faces you don't like here, and instead of fighting amongst them, learn how to make a D-Mod, write reviews, post screenshots, post pleasant things. It's like a fun game with tons of things to do and spent your time with.

I know I've said a lot about "Use your flaming time to contribute" but that's really they key sentence here. You need to do that, to make this site a happier place again.

I really enjoy making D-Mods, but I suppose some could see it as just work without payment. However, when making a D-Mod, I'm not all about the payment. I just like making D-Mods. It's kinda like writing a book but with actually managing to finish one.

Yeah, I know that I have in the past been a flamer at times, but if I've been one recently, the kind that just insult someone without justifiable provocation, then I have not noticed it. I have been trying to unsucessfully make the board a more peaceful, positive forum, and I know my intentions if my actions speak something else, perhaps if more of us work together, we can bring the forum to its former glory, or better.

Exactly, more of us need to work together to produce an unison of Dinkers who actually care for the well-being of this site. I can't blame you at all for being a part of this site's downfall, Kris. You're one of the rare Dinkers who haven't been a part of it, at least very recently. However, one thing you could do for this site, is to write reviews and that kinda stuff.

We should create a D-Mod of the Month event. It'll help bring people together, play D-Mods, and discuss punching ducks. Exactly what the forum was created for.

The problem is that Dink is dead. He died a slow and painful death which could not even be prevented by DinkHD.

There is no Dink community left. Not like there used to be. There is only this site, the RTSoft site, Beuc's sites and Dink Smallwood Italia left. RedInk has abandoned this place because there's nothing left of it.

I agree with Kyle. Instead of being "Dink died. We don't have old Dinkers anymore. Oh, the good old times ", we should be "Let's try and make good new times! ".

Negative attitude is the least this forum needs right now. All we need is people accepting the truth that it depends on them whether this site is going to burn in flamewar and die, or not. This site was already a much nicer place to hang yesterday evening, when people had began seeing the truth. Now we just need to surrender to that thought and begin working as an unison. Nobody will be left out of our group unless they choose to be left outside, by spamming and flaming (this isn't my decision, but something that will automatically happen sooner or later).

No, they are classified as jokes. Funny posts. While they don't make much sense, at least they please the eye. Trust me, if a newcomer posted similar posts to his, yes I would be at first a little weirded out, but then I'd realize it's just him. However, the difference between most newcomers' and Robj's posts are, that Robj's posts have a positive attitude, while the others have a negative attitude, or just straight out flaming.

And for the last time I'm asking you. Really, I'm begging you. Can't you PLEASE use your time to construct this site into a better form, rather than posting negative remarks about everything. That's the whole point of this site. To have fun. And we've already seen what happens when the fun gets taken away. It leads to great people leaving this site.

Ignoring Pred's posts, I would like to ask you; Skorn, what did you do when you first appeared on the forum? Answer, Almost exactly what Godley did. What did you do when your Skorn account was banned? You created a new one called Absolution and layed low for a while before taking up the old bad habit like a once-reformed smoker. What have you been doing lately? The same bullshoot that's been going on since Pred got here, or maybe a little before. All I know is that we are having an AshsAshs repeat, but Pred's either studied what Ashs did, or he's a lot smarter, and trickier, than his predecessor ever was. The difference is that Ashs was just plain ducking with us, having a good time while stirring up the shoot. Ashs created a major flame war, where everyone banded up to try and get rid of him. Predator has lasted longer than Ashs and has managed to create discord and chaos with a majority of his topics. He has created what I like to call a Total Flame War, where a forum not only flames the vagrant, but also each other to the point of where the bonds that bind the members together shatter irrevocably. We are at a small window of opportunity to forgo this futile fight and repair the damages of Hurricane Pred. This may be our last chance to do this. I beseech everyone, forgo your petty squabbles, ingore the flames of wrath and don't water the seeds of discord that Predator has so eloquently sowed. And, to hopefully put things in a rather humorous light, Predator is the pit, and as we stare into him, he stared into us. We stare and don't understand beyond the inner darkness, but our hearts, so filled with light, are easily viewed. That as we battle the monster that he is, we ourselves become the monsters. (I am, of course, using a quote from Nietsche [Did I spell that right?] This is my interpretation, and a dang fine one in my opinion.)

You're dang right, Kris! We must stop fighting amongst each other, and together fight against the greater evil. As ironic as it sounds, you can fight against the greater evil by not fighting at all. As I've said many times before, use your skills for good, not bad. I used them for both in the past, until now finally when Sabre left, I realized that if I can use my skills for good, then I should use them just for that, and leave the bad completely alone.

EDIT: I know I was the one actually opposing Tal's idea of ignoring Pred a while back, but that was just cause I was so-called "young and stupid". I finally had an awakening of sorts, and I think it would be quite easy to get rid of Predator if we just ignored him.

Reading this thread makes me feel like I'm looking at the script of a seriously melodramatic JRPG.

Not saying that's a bad thing or a good thing... just observation. Power of friendship FTW.

And why have you become so protective about Skorn? It's as if you're his mom or something. Skorn is a big boy and should accept his own mistakes, then maybe people could forgive him. I think it's quite obvious he's one of the biggest reasons for this site's downfall, considering he's one of the three (actually four, if I include you, MsDink) in this thread, who has constantly been fighting others. The rest are just trying to make things better.

Honestly? I think everyone's been quite calm in this thread, except for him and Predator, so it's totally uncalled for to try and fight all the time, despite the situation. MsDink and Godley weren't exactly fighting, but they could do with less negative attitude, cause that will only cause a breakdown sooner or later, and in the end, a fight.

EDIT: Ok, have to admit. I was sort of finger pointing there. I apologize. But I think everyone agrees a fight is the last thing we need right now.
