Started making a new character and thought since I had spent time already I may as well make him totally usable by others... so...
What sequences can you not do without... like push, die, walk, weapons, fist, crawl, etc.
What do you not care whether its there or not?

Since I've seen your character, I think it'll be OK to say that the only thing I would consider adding is a magic sequence (casting something), since he doesn't really look like a brawler. You already have the walk, die, idle, and they look fine (probably better since you did some edits to it). Idles aren't even added most of the time, but adding them is a very nice bonus.
I want to see a character that scratches his bum, then sniffs it, like in Baldurs' Gate.
Fist definitely, because it can work as spell cast animation. Sword is nice, I could do without bow for example. However, an original weapon like maybe a staff or spear hasn't been done yet, so that could be cool. But for most intents and purposes, Fist, Sword & Crawl will fill in all the blanks for what authors need. You can do push scripts without the push animation.
Thanks for those so far, now schnapps is off watching the monkey videos (there are sooo many) I seriously wanna know what is essential to you as a player .
Kyle, the staff has been done - I vaguely remember a wizard as the character (not dink) and he wandered round smaking things with a staff -never finished that game - kept glitching on me
so far its fist sword crawl and spell (magic totally slipped my mind so ta for that)
Any other suggestions peeps?

Spell animation should be easier than a weapon, and can be used for so many different spells, so it's more flexible...
Oh and yeah, I've seen him too and he looks lika a mage and not a swordsman.

I wouldn't say that IPD, just look at the Sith in Star Wars, swordsman yet dressed sort of the same.
well sounds good and well i wouldn't mind some more social sprites like kissing someone or something(if i'd use it it would be for kissing loved ones or a lover) or even hugging(quite useful for cut-scenes where you show the action instead of just mentioning)
one thing i would also love to see is carrying stuff graphics could be great for thrown weapons or puzzles with stuff too big for the bag to fit.

more I think about it, I quite like the thought of him with a staff - or a 'beating stick' hehe think he lends himself more to that than a sword, casting spells and adding weapon - its all the same - I still have to draw it.

I believe this "staff guy" you're referring to, is the Spike graphics guy by SimonK.
As for this new character, first you should probably make him capable to do all the stuff Dink is able to, if you feel like you are capable to. Then maybe give a shot at some ideas that this thread has/is about to have.

I believe you are quite incorrect there - the "staff Guy" that I am talking about is a normal wizard sprite... with a staff... which he uses to hit with...

You should make him be able to shoot ice cream from his ears. Just a thought.
I'm really doubting your memory MsDink. I may be wrong, but I can't recall ever seeing such sprite.
AM I wrong lol. I remember playing that D-Mod, but I can't remember a wizard with a staff though. Oh well, my memory is failure anyway.
Mike the Magician. If I remember right, the attack graphics were rather a mess, but that might be easy to fix.
Other ideas, NOT generated by watching monkeys gaining perverted olfactory satisfaction:

- Dink pitching a tent
- Dink with a propeller hat flying through the air
- Dink doing the "Triumphant Air-Hump"
- Dink doing dancing the rumba
- Dink putting on an apron
- Dink riding an air Harley Davidson
- Dink jumping up and down while maintaining a squatting position
- A shrubbery, which you must place here, beside this shrubbery, only slightly higher so you get a two layer effect with a little path running down the middle.

What i want to see is a flame bow that actually has flames on the arrows when you fire it.
Thank you, but I meant Dink. Although if that is Dink, he's got scary teeth.
New weapons and new spells, the most needed features for graphics, cause they also will have a huge effect on the gameplay.

A sparkly spell effect would be cool. Like a heal/buff effect to use that's not the omegasuperextremely overused blue/red sparks from the original Dink

Uhm... you can make the character have some social skills: Shaking hands for example ^_^
Hehe what's the point of him shaking hands if there is no other sprite that does it? XD
All of the characters could use some additional acts/emotions. Things such as shaking/nodding their heads and stuff like that.
Having ice cream shoot out of his ears was the best one.

Ohh and I just realised you need to click the end of all the text when you do a link predator, maybe you were typing before the end - try that.

How about having dink hold the weapon in a "for the power of grayskull" claim, and then having thunders fall over him and empowering him like He-man?

Made? Not by a long shot. I merely converted them for Dink use. Likewise with the crow and wasp files. I'm certain it's stated in the readme files. Perhaps the descriptions should be changed to better reflect this.

Well MS dink with the carrying i meant more like actual carrying and not storing the stuff in the backpack(some things could just be too big to fit there but still needed(a good example you could find in Zelda games)

What I would like to see is Dink on a mount. A horse, a dragon, something like that. That would make for an interesting new aspect to a mod. I have been wonder why always the speed boots, but never a mount.
Dink should be on a mount, but instead of it being a horse or dragon, it should just be another dink.
One of SimonK's (I think) D-Mods had Dink riding a dragon.
Dink should get a dog that follows him around it's name should be sink. Then some one can make the d-mod adventures of dink and sink.

Could be but I am definetly going to use one in the contribution that will come around as soon as I download WDE+. Climbing would be nice if they were a main character and then there are other uses.

I have one last valuable suggestion, with all this mysterious stuff, it would be cool if the shady stranger could actually have an appear/disappear animation, like how he would come into being at a moment's notice. Maybe something like this: Youtube. It's at the 3:45 point.
