There are not much new DMOD here recently
Are those Dinkers busy with new epics,or something else?I don't feel much motivation here...

Sorry,got a wrong category...
A lack of new DMODs isn't surprising me much. What is really surprising is the total lack of reviews. That doesn't make motivation come more quickly...

I've still got my d-mod in the making and it's fairly close to finished. Well, percentagewise at least

I've still got my d-mod in the making too and it's fairly close to finished.
*cough*
As fairly close to being finished as it was some time ago
Though I have spent a few hours on it this week and made close to 50 new sprites, need to make another 20 or so next, ho hum.

Well the update on agatha will be out soon, there's just some hours left to work, but I haven't done anything for a while, I've been working on my epic and making graphics in blender...
I will probably make a D-Mod someday.

Please don't.

+1
We should write like at least one review each week, that way we would have much more reviews, like 5 extra each week... and writing one review every week isn't much work either...

same here
same here
Well, I'm making a DMOD at the moment, but knowing me something that would take someone else a few weeks will take me a few months... Oh, and it's not gonna suck, either!

I've been working on a brand new D-Mod... but I've been so busy herding cows lately so it might not get done by Christmas like I've been saying
I agree about more new reviews, we need those!

I agree about more new reviews, we need those!
As long as people don't get reviews for their files (mostly positive), they won't find potential to write many reviews themselves.
I have a plan...
Perhaps we can make a dmod, which has a main body, and everyone write a part of the map, sort like an attachment...well,a new world using the word "load_map",so Dink can explore new worlds in one game...
like maps in Freelancer, and the worlds link with some sort of hyperspace gate

You mean group work? I would like that. I hate making D-Mods alone. It makes me feel lonely

Yeah, that's what I mean...and new maps can be released with new quests, and for some time it will become a complete world

Oh, this idea again
It's been popping up since the dawn of ages. I do agree that the new load_map() command might actually allow it to work. Hmm, well, I'm not gonna be the one to start it up, but I would probably contribute such a world if someone started it
It could be like those series that have a weekly episode that has nothing to do with the previous ones. Like Quantum Leap or Sliders (I'm old...).

Egh - i'm shoot at coding, but it sounds fun.
So,who shall start this project...?
I must learn DinkC hard before I could reach that level...
I must learn DinkC hard before I could reach that level...

There should be a way to cap the XP gain then. Like, one level per contribution max. Then the next person can balance it around that assumption.
This can be a good idea...
You could checks level/stats in monster script and make a monster based on the attributes..
And I'll contribute if someone else starts it
And I'll contribute if someone else starts it

That means the monster gets stronger when Dink gets stronger?
Well,a pillbug can be invincible in the end then...

That would be interesting because it would partially stop cheating

Ummm...it's reasonable too...
I never thought of it like that... Too bad if someone sets their attributes unreasonably high.
"Grrr - this sucks! I know, I'll give my self 10000000000 strength..... Oh nooo - what is this beast that I have made?!"
No you won't.If you do,you can't kill even a duck

Maybe if you could actually spell the name right, you'd actually convince somebody.

It would be interesting if the enemy was 5% stronger than the player or something, which would be reasonable for a normal player, but when the player has over 1000 strength the enemy has so much more strength they are able to easily overwhelm the player...
The only problem with scaling enemies is that you will never get stronger. No matter how many secrets you find or how much you grind, the power relation to the enemies remains the same, depriving the player of a sense of progress and cool factor by powering up :/
Mixing lethal monsters with easy monsters poses a pleasingly easy question: Fight or flight?
Not really. Take Final Fantasy XII for those who've played it. It has normal difficulty monsters roaming around, but also T-Rexes that one shot you. It's not fun at all, it's bad baaaad game design.
if you use % based monsters you could actully win the game without trying to level up
lame
instead couldn't we make a point where you get are "rewarded" and your strength is SET to a certain amount and then you keep being "rewarded"
