Story 3 - need to gather skulls - no pick, cant go back.

Im stuck on the plateau where i need a pick to gather skulls from the graves and i sold my pick a long time ago. So I guess this is it for my game?
Hindsight - Why the hell would the author make a gamebreaking item sellable? Might as well put price tags on the quest items.
I read the walkthrough for anything that could help me, but "Use your pick to break the rocks apart. (Make sure you have a pick, before getting to this point!)" blew my mind.
One would imagine that alerting people that they need said item BEFORE the "point of no return" would've been a better call.

The pick's not only from the previous story, the guy in the general store in the desert also sells one for 400 gold. Can't remember if you can get back down to there from the plateau though, hope so!

I managed to get back down... At least I'm pretty sure I did.
You arrived to the point where you have to chip skulls without a pick AND you went back to town and bought one?
erm, I went back but not for a pick... hehe...
Its been a while since I played this but I'm certain that I was able to return to town after a long trip. Try speaking to the warpey-things that I've forgotten completely about and you should gain access to backtracking.
I could be mistaken but I'm sure I did it somehow for no apparent reason...

Well your vague certainty that you got back doesnt help. Would I waste hours for this topic If I hadnt exhausted all the obvious solutions?
What I need is a cheats that would modify my stats. I have a Far-back save game, and I would arrive at my current point alot faster if i dont stop looking for stat boosters all around the map.

.I appreciate it, but I had already done it myself. Also, the fly cheat doesnt help you out. Just fiddling with the warp function till you get lucky.
"Fiddling" with the Warp function isn't necesary. If you've decided to resort to it, simply open WinDinkEdit and look for the appropriate screen, memorise the number, and bingo.
mabe use a glitch.... that once worked in the real game....like the water walking one... or tree walking ... i did,nt see the game before but i played the first one tough and it worked
I realize that I am way late in this thread but on the chance somebody else comes here for the answer ...
Walk all the way to the west end of the plateau (the ring below is on the east side), a bit past the gold heart is a huge crack in the ground which you can use to get back to the lower level.
