So I'm thinking about making a DMOD...
So I'm thinking about making a DMOD. If anyone oldschool still exists on the boards I'm the guy that used to (must have been years ago now..) begin making hundreds of DMODs and never finish them. However, now I'm 20 and have a little bit more maturity and dedication to working I believe I can finally pull it off. I was thinking about doing it a couple months ago, but if you read my most recent thread I had a massive problem with the game running at 1000% speed and messed up colours in Windows 7.
Then I read the thread on Dink HD. After playing the release, which worked fine on Windows 7, it sparked a bit of creativity in me once again. However my question is; is it possible to develop a DMOD specifically for Dink HD? If I create my DMOD in Dink HD, will it be able to run on the previous versions (for anyone who doesn't have Dink HD), and if not, what has changed in Dink HD that I will need to know for building a new DMOD.
Also, I'm looking to try and push the engine a bit, and want to know if anything has been added to the new Dink version that allows me to do so.
Kind regards
kikki/iceman/morpheus/imacrazyguy and so on....

It's fully possible as I see it. Create a dmod in WinDinkEdit+ and save it to the dmods folder in Dink HD. If it'll work on previous versions, I'd say: probably.
You can change the standard Dink engine in DFARC from the original to DinkHD for convenience.

The two versions are compatible in scripting. However, you can use more advanced things in the HD version, such as 32-bit graphics with transparency and MP3/OGG support.
I'm as old school as it gets btw, been here since the release of Dink
Can't say I remember you unfortunately, were you here under the same name? Oooh, was it Jamie?
In any case, I know what you mean with the maturity thing. I also suffered from the same unrealistic d-mod dreams without dedication when I was a teen
But now, my d-mod is nearing completion and it makes me feel good

It is Jamie yes, I went under a plethora of names though so never had anything solid as back when I was young I thought of a new name every day. I can remember Dan getting pretty irate at my requests to change it every week!
So if I design with 32 bit graphics and mp3 in mind, it won't be backwards compatible? Obviously as technology has moved on I think 32bpp and mp3 wouldn't be a bad thing necessarily?

Dink 1.08 Aural+ supports 24bit True Color and MP3.
24bit truecolor does not support the current 32-bit BMP format though. I'd say, go with what's new and stick to Dink HD if you're starting from scratch.
Plus I think as it's more of an official release it seems wiser to go with the HD version.. Just my 2c

How/where can I do that? I see nothing on DFArc that do that...

If you installed DinkHD in the same folder as DFArc, you should be able to change the standard Dink application in Edit > Options in DFArc.
That would be a very young me, correct!
(13 possibly?)

Why was your old account deleted anyways?
