Recent Release Rumble Q2 2010
Now, I know that it's technically August already and that I'm technically not Christiaan either but that won't stop Q2's 'Recent Release Rumble'! And so I present to you: The Recent Release Rumble 2010 Q2!
15 files, including the non-combat contest ones, have been released in the past quarter and now it's time to vote for your favorite DMOD and non-DMOD file.
See the comments to read more.
The basic rules of the RRR are as follows:
1) You can vote for one D-Mod and for one Non D-Mod file. You cannot vote for two D-Mods or two Non D-Mod files.
2) Voting is done by posting a reaction in this topic with your choice.
3) You can not change your vote. So make sure you think before voting!
4) Only "well known" members are allowed to vote. This means that no ghosts or really new accounts can vote. This is done to prevent people from voting with alternate accounts.
5) Discussion about the files is encouraged. But please, no spamming or attacking other members!
6) The two D-Mods and two Non D-Mod files with the highest amount of votes of each RRR will participate in the Download of the Year Awards for their respective category next year.
So what are you waiting for? Cast your vote! Voting ends next Tuesday.
The choices for this RRR include all files released between April 1st and June 30th. The choices are:
D-Mods:
Agatha Smallwood's Will
Corporate Managerialism
Dink Z Trivia
Fate of Destiny (Demo)
Forest of Doom
Furball
Grasp of Darkness
Higgledy Piggledy
The Day After the Middle Night
The River
Where's Likko?
Non D-Mod files:
Dark Grass Cliff Tile
Platform Transportation
Poison Status
Zeddexx's Homemade MIDI's

Wohoo! At last! Thank you, Metatarasal! That wasn't so hard, now was it? Anyway, I better shut up now before I get a fist to my face.
To the actual voting:
D-Mod vote goes to:
The River
I haven't actually beaten this yet, but so far I've been entertained very well by this D-Mod. Forest of Doom nor Furball have I played yet, but about what I've heard, they aren't exactly as great as this one.
Non D-Mod vote goes to:
Dark Grass cliff tile
Really, Zeddexx's MIDIs weren't really too awesome, Platform Transportation had some serious bugs, and Poison Status I haven't checked out yet. So yeah, Grass cliff tile thingy gets my vote here.

Gah, so many great dmods, Furball, the River and Agatha Smallwood's Will are the best imo and I'll give my vote to Agatha Smallwood's Will. I enjoyed testing it. Awesome scripting, neat graphics and a shovel made it a winner.
The non-dmod vote goes to Poison Status.

Yeah, many good dmods but not any really good non-dmod files.
I think both the Platform and poison status were awesome, hard to choose from...
umm..
umm...
UMM...
Think my vote has to go to Poison Status A very clever and rather a useful development file
Reserve my dmod vote for now - still deciding

GOD. I don't think I ever made it past the super tedious forest, but the dmod was awesome until then.
As for dev files... they are not worthy. I'll vote for Mr. None.

DMOD: Grasp of Darkness
Non-DMOD: Dark Grass Cliff Tiles
GoD was just Awesome. Furball would've been my 2nd choice though
As for the DGC tiles, I may use 'em in FoD.

Thanks for the votes guys.
I should bring up a walkthrough for GoD in the future. As players seems to be stuck/too annoyed in the forest.

Yeah, the forest part was rather confusing, I just walked around on random for some hours. A walkthrough would indeed have been helpful.
D-Mod: The River. I loooved everything about it. Perfect début D-Mod for synbi. I especially loved the farming system.
Non D-Mod: Poison Status. I love the idea of poison in Dink. Something when you think about it, really should have been included all along.

D-Mod: The River - It was so well done; maps weren't needlessly large and very well thought out. The limited sprite set was used well.
Non D-MOD: Platform transportation - there is a lot of potential here; I imagine the coding didn't happen overnight.
