I recall a portal of sorts appearing while Dink is dead in BftG, is that what you mean? Because it sounds like it; Celestial and looking like a bit of a black hole?

it is not cosmic
it is supernatural(celestial)

You need some very specific graphic to finish your DMOD? That sounds very very strange, I can't imagine any situation in which I ever couldn't finish a DMOD because I lacked a single graphic. Let alone not being able to finish a DMOD because of wanting one portal over another.
