Server problems?
Anyone else been having trouble getting here recently? Over the last week or two I've often been getting this message until I refresh the page, and occasionally it doesn't load at all for half an hour or so.
Might be just me, but it's only happening with TDN.

Yeh, it happened to me not long before you posted this, the site was down for a bit. I asked a few people on my MSN, and they couldn't load the page at the same time that it wouldn't load for me, so the site was actually having issues for a bit there, dunno why.
It has done it every night for the last 3 nights... I thought it was maintainence or something lol
Longer then that, if I'm not mistaken... it gets really irritating as well.
No idea what's causing it though.

It happened to me last week, other than that I don't know what is going on.
Server problems? I've never got any, it must mean that your computers are total crap.
My computer is only a few months old... 64bit Win. 7
And now evil earl is going to blame windows...
Anyway, I also couldn't connect at a certain time yesterday; but I haven't had any problems before.

Ask 1and1.com what's up.
I like how people are replying seriously to EvilEarl, as if he was being serious.
I myself haven't encountered any connection problems on TDN recently, though.

I encounter that error every now and then. Not having encountered it recently though. Last time was like, over half a year or something.

Somebody sees the light!! (But xeriouxly, what real explanation is there if I'm one of the only Linux users and I haven't reported problems either?)

Well, the OS probably matters zero percent when it comes to connection problems like these.

Yeah, I've been running XP for about 5 years, and this just started happening to me yesterday. I actually mentioned on the Dink FB page. Like MsDink, I assumed it was for maintainence.

... and is now a daily occurrence
But the time varies

I use Mac OS X and it loads every time. I think that must be it.
It's probably a routing problem. That is, your request - and the data returned - goes through usually at least 10 computers before reaching the server you want, and back. If one server is down somewhere, the routers will try to find a different path to the server you want. If an alternative route can't be found (quickly enough) - BAM - server error. Your request, or the returned data, is dropped.
This is why connecting to certain websites sometimes takes very long - or even craps out on you. Refreshing sometimes helps because an alternative route COULD be found at that point (or a server that was too busy before is now available).
It also matters what ISP you use - the internet consists of "zones" of ISPs sorta, and some of them block out each other, meaning it becomes more difficult for your ISP to be able to contact certain websites because they can't use that ISP's servers/routers.
I said a lot here, but my point is: the server obviously isn't offline as some people have constant access to it (including me) (and unless it IS offline for bits during the times we don't visit, coincidentally). Otherwise, it's a routing problem.

For me I am already logged on and viewing stuff - and it dies on me - so not sure how that's a routing problem, when I refresh on occasion it just keeps trying to load - and brings up a blank page and says proudly 'DONE'. And I have never seen you (DaVince) online when it does it. I have also had a friend try to connect to that page when it happens and they can't either - so am pretty sure its not my connection that causes it for me

Even on shared hosting, this website still has a dedicated IP address, so I don't think there are too many computers to got trough unless you're behind VPN's and proxy servers

well i am not online most of the times now that you mention it(yea i just don't like logging out)
