Re: New Years?
Since the next year is 2010, does that mean I will have to write the date as xx/xx/10? dang, that's gonna take some getting used to.
Heh heh, I still don't know how to shorten it. Not sure whether to say 'twenty ten', or 'oh-ten' as I seem to keep doing naturally.

Everybody keeps saying it will be "oh-ten" but even though that may be true and sounds right, I don't think that's how it should be, how would you pronounce the date?
example:
23/12/09 = twenty-third of the twelth, oh-nine
1/01/10 = ???
example:
23/12/09 = twenty-third of the twelth, oh-nine
1/01/10 = ???
i would quite simply prononce it as the first of January two-thousand-ten
Were trying to get it abbreviated.
EDIT: oooh...So not looking forward to next year when we might discuss how to abbreviate the date in class for 5 hours..

January, 1st Ten or Two-thousand and Ten
I'm looking forward to wasting an entire lesson or two trying to figure out how say the date.
I'd go with twenty-ten, to me it sounds more... natural. Dunno how that's going to work but I'll try.

So, when the time comes you're just gonna say twenty-twenty?

Hmm... what am I supposed to say? Well, it's ten years and seven days away, so I'll have plenty of time to think about it.
Maybe in the next ten years I'll get used to saying simply the last two digits like 'ten' 'eleven' instead of 'twenty-ten' but not now, I can't.
